I stayed at this hotel for two nights (December 2013) and we were thoroughly pleased by the location, the service and the rooms. To begin with, Carole, the receptionist, was very sweet and helpful and she kept suggesting places for us to visit and restaurants to eat at. The rooms are extremely clean and had all the basic amenities( the heaters were very efficient). The bathroom is well stocked too. The hotel is located on Set- Catherine street, one of the main streets in Montreal and is very centrally located. Overall, a pleasant experience and stay and very easy on the wallet.

I have stayed at this hotel more than once. The first time I heard of this hotel was from a friend of mine who highly recommended it. When it comes to hotels I am not very picky but there are quiet a few factors that have to be considered. Proximity to food, proximity to nightlife, price, and convenience.
The second time I used this hotel was for a friends Bachelor Party. When it comes to food there is a La Belle Province just around the corner, a St Hubert down the street, a Baton Rouge close by and an Eggspectations just a few minutes away. There is a mall close by as we also bought food to cook in the rooms which has a grocery, liquor store etc.

When it comes to nightlife you are in the middle of it. There are bars and after hour clubs all over the place and nightclubs within walking distance. The area is very busy with pedestrians so people watching is also fun.

Price? Nothing can beat there price. It is crazy cheap. Is it 5 star quality? No, but the rooms are clean and well organized. There is a side entrance which gives access to rooms a couple floors up. There is only 4 rooms that access this entrance so booking them all would mean that you have the entrance for your self. (If you are booing for a large group) There are plenty of other rooms to use but I like the one with a private entrance.

The staff was very easy going. Could not have asked for anything more. I love staying at this location. It might be a little rowdy for children but when I go to Montreal with my friends I always stay there.

Room Tip: There is a section of the hotel that has a private entrance and access to 4 rooms. If you need 4 roo...

I didn't stay here myself but rather booked the hotel for my 24 yr old nephew and 2 of his friends. I've booked stays for them here before and they haven't been as pleased. By their standards everything about this place was fabulous and they'd like to stay there again next time. They were upgraded when they got there and thought the staff was very helpful and friendly... even with the boys not speaking french.
Thank you for making their stay even more enjoyable

I stayed here in December with my 17 year old daughter. I wasn't at all worried about the location and we felt safe at all times. When you walk in to the hotel - the first thing you notice is the 'character'. The exposed brick is gorgeous. We were located up on the 3rd floor and had to walk up - but that wasn't an issue for us. The room was clean, cozy and comfortable. Everything we needed (including a private washroom).

We loved that we could walk everywhere! In fact, we had reservations at 'Dans le Noir' and I wasn't exactly sure how far it was from the hotel. The lady at the reception desk was on her break and actually walked me over!!! Now that's service. Oh, and my daughter also enjoyed a massage on site. She said she could hear people talking in the lobby during the massage... but that it didn't really matter. I think they also do manicures, etc. but you have to reserve in advance.

The only issue I had was when making reservations over the phone or calling about a follow up question after our stay. I found the gentleman to be a little rude and even condescending... but I have to say that I didn't encounter any of this during our actual stay.

Would recommend :)

CLEAN! Convenient for the Metro & Place des Arts. Modern. Comfortable. V helpful staff. Great price.

Surrounded by fast-food/low-end restaurants - had to walk 8+ blocks to find something decent.
Yes, there's a sex-shop downstairs. No, it doesn't matter one bit.
Expensive parking!
No in-room coffee machine (but this could be a positive, given how bad they usually are!)
Cold, cold bathroom (until we discovered a window cracked open).
Shiny comforter - fell off in minutes, repeatedly.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Street-side might be more interesting, but bound to be noisier. We were at the back - lousy view but...

Thank you for taking the time to review our establishment on Tripadvisor. We are pleased that you had a good stay in our establishment. It is unfortunate that the window was left open in your washroom and that it was cold.... there is an individual thermostat for every room that should make it comfortable for guests. There arealos numerous restaurants in our area, including some very upscale establishments. Many are quite discreet and you have to know where they are......do not hesitate to ask our reception staff their recommendations regarding restaurants. They will also be be pleased to make a reservation for those special occasions. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
