Upon arrival, the front "lobby" was very small but we were greeted by a woman that was very friendly and helpful. We were told at that time that we were on the third floor which is really the 4th floor since there are no rooms at ground level. As soon as she said we were on the top floor, she immediately offered to help us up with our bags however we declined. Getting all the way to the top with all of our bags was not overly fun and you really avoided going in or out of your room much due to the amount of stairs. We were surprised by the size of our room. It was huge compared to the room we had in Quebec City but was quite dated inside. The photos on the site are quite true to how it looks. It was very clean and the air conditioning worked very well. We were worried when we got there because there is no air-conditioning in the halls and it was very hot. The one big thing I disliked about room 302 was there is no door on the bathroom. It has some privacy with a wall but how private can a bathroom really be with no door. This is very awkward. When we went to leave, check out was very odd. There were 2 couples waiting there with nobody there to serve us and it was after 8. My husband called the number available to us and they said to just leave the key in the door. A little weird. The location was great but the room was very pricey for what we got. I would definitely try another hotel next time I was in Montreal. I really don't have any complaints, I just think we could find something better for a similar price. A small bakery around the conner was recommend by the person working the desk when we got there. It was amazing! I highly recommend you try it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor, which is really the second.

We liked this place much more than our other two hotels on the larger trip. The room was charming and spacious. It was very comfortable for us. Our A/C was out the first night, but luckily it was cool outside and they had it fixed the next morning. I had read that we could expect to carry our suitcases upstairs - that was helpful to know ahead.

Convenient to the Old Port, the Place-d'Armes metro station and many restaurants and bars. It was easy enough to find breakfast nearby. We hope to come back!

Room Tip: We really liked 302. Nice view of the water.

Room is quite spacious, no breakfast is available, but this can be achieved nearby. TV set is one of the 70-ties. Street noise is apparent. The young girl at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. Parking can be done a aprox. 300 m/yards away at a parking lot. No elevator is present. Despite this all sounds not so positive, this B&B (the second 'B' is not in thr picute at all) is a cute place to have a sleep over.

This is a thoroughly charming boutique hotel right on Rue de la Commune in the heart of Old Montreal. From this location you can explore the old streets east, west and north or you can walk along the waterfront to the south, in many places reclaimed from its industrial days and perfect for recreational walking or biking. There are four rooms on each of three floors above the commercial street level. All are extremely spacious, each decorated differently and furnished very comfortably. Ask for a south facing room if you can possibly get one as they are brighter and have a view of the street and the water. The interior staircase has beautiful wooden banisters and railings. If you are on the top floor you are in for a bit of a climb - an extra bonus of some cardio! The staff are courteous and helpful. There are extra little touches, as well as a very clever key-pad entry, that show this to be a local business where the owner/operator is enjoying what they do!

Room Tip: The south facing rooms are brighter and have a better view. There are stairs to climb to all rooms...

My husband and I were passing through on the way to Maine. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation at this little gem. It is in the Old Town area. We had a large room, comfy bed and a huge bathroom. This place has charm. It is not cookie cutter and neither is the décor. You do have to carry your luggage up the stairs but the clerk helped. We only stay one night and it was great. No noise, we were on the street side. Some may have trouble with the parking since you have a few moments to unload and then have to move your car to the port for parking which is $24 for 24 hours. The room has mini bar and stuff for coffee. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the room. But there is a little TV, they have a computer and printer you can use. In the room we stayed there was a futon and I presume a sofa bed. I liked this hotel but if you are use to everything the same and brand new this is not the place. But if you like adventure in travel this is for you. I mostly saw couples and some had teen children. Lobby is small but that is not a big deal to me.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor. In the corner.

Large room. Huge remodeled bathroom. Delighful place. They had phones -free calls to North America- umbrellas to use and return, a washer/dryer you can use. Even bikes in the basement.
Good location near the Old City but not right in it.

I loved staying here. The room felt so homey and warm. The room was quite clean and spacious. I loved the fact that they had a toaster oven... We bought some bagels and ate them the next day. We kinda needed to considering this was February and nothing was open for breakfast in old montreal. The staff was only there during the day but that wasn't a problem for me. My only complaint is that they could use a new mattress. You could feel the spings... despite this I still got good sleep.
