The building and contents are fantastic. Old style cabinet of curiosities feel. We spent hours looking at everything they had to offer. Front desk personnel friendly, and you can get lost in the museum / research center. Very impressed with its variety, and the attention retaking ye original Beaty of the building.

I really liked the rocks, minerals, seashells, stuffed animals, and archeology exhibits. The building is incredible--I just stood and stared at the amazing ceiling, woodwork, and all the ornate details. Admission is free to this true gem.

Great museum in an old building with lots of character. You get up close to the exhibits unlike in larger museums. It has three floors but is not overwhelming. There are great stuffed animals both large and small and a terrific shell collection.

The museums itself is fine but some crackhead/drug addict man came inside, walked right passed the two older women at the front desk, and stole my expensive leather jacket on the coat rack (right next to the museum workers)v and walked right out. Oh, and apparently he also tried to break into their donation box and they didn't think to call security and just let him walk out. Campus security did nothing and wouldn't show us the security camera footage.

The next time that you are in Montreal please visit this museum. You will be impressed by the collections on display.
We went twice as we ran out of time on the first day. We did not expect some much to see and read. They have activities for the little ones.
You will be not disappointed.
