“A Genuine Treasure in Pont St Charles Neighborehood”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2012

Casa Santa Isabel is more than a B&B. It is an entire private, clean and beautiful 4 room apartment, plus full kitchen and full bathroom. There is no living room, no sofa.

There is a window air conditioning unit to cool the entire apartment. We were quite grateful for this feature, as our visit coincided with very high outdoor temperatures combined with high humidity.

The full bathroom has a tub/rain shower combination.

There are two bedrooms, each with mirrored closet doors, a dresser and a comfy club style chair. The Alaska room has a double bed. The Las Pescuesonas room has a queen bed, plus a toilet in a closet room. Mattresses are quite firm, bedding is soft and smooth.

The full kitchen has everything you could want - dishwasher, stove and oven, microwave, toaster over, coffee maker, dishware, flatware, serving pieces, crockpot, pots and pans, plus disposable plates and napkins.

The secluded back garden is inviting, and includes an oudooor table, chairs and barbeque.

The interior is decorated thoughtfully and is quite lovely, generally a mission furniture style. There is a long dining table and chairs in a main room, plus a dinette set, comfy leather chair and ottoman, large flat screen tv and cable tv box in a breakfast room.

The cupboards are stocked with cereal and many other dry food items, and the refrigerator is stocked with juice, milk, yogurt and more. Breakfast pastries were brought daily.

The Casa is just a short walk from the Charlevoix Metro stop, making access to all of Montreal quite convenient. The neighborhood around the Casa is mixed business and residential, not at all beautiful. However, it is peaceful and quiet. And it is a real neighborhood, not an invention for tourists.

I would not hesitate to stay here again. Having the luxury of space while traveling is a rarity.

The owner clearly cares for the property, and has given much thought to the comfort of guests.

We loved our stay here. We were comfortable in the neighborhood, and had the experience of feeling like real Montrealers.

Myself, my wife, and her parents stayed here for 3 nights. I have no hesitation in recommending this place. The owners are friendly, respectful, and courteous. Detail is everything, yet it's still very relaxed.

The subway is less than 5 minutes away, a supermarket around the corner, and a nice running path along the canal is nearby. If you're driving the house is conveniently located just over the main bridge into Montreal. A train track runs nearby, but this was not an issue. In fact what's a trip to Canada without watching a freight train of lumber pass by?

House: Spotless. All mod-cons. Wooden floors. Slept soundly. Well fitted kitchen with fresh supplies. There are only 2 rooms so privacy is ensured. The owners live next door - but are careful to respect your space.

If you're tired of generic hotels and fancy a some genuine hospitality then head to this place.

What a lovely place to stay!! My friends and I were very pleased when we arrived to this cozy and spacious apartment. The owners were very friendly! The apartment is only a few blocks away from the train station (the green line) which doesn't make it difficult to get to downtown montreal at all. When in Montreal, I will definitely be staying here again.
