Owner description: Urban Marmotte offers you great walking tours. Lasting from 3 to 6 hours, we like taking the time needed to really show you around. Our tours are flexible and capture the backpacker's spirit: no rush, easy going, very informative and enjoyable. Our tours are a good mix of main attractions and places that are off the beaten tracks. Try the Grand Tour, our famous 6 hour walking tour, showing up to eight different areas and ambiances - the perfect tour to have before exploring the city by yourself. Or take another tour like "Old Montreal in Depth", a 3 hours tour that takes the time this historical area deserves or instead visit the Old Montreal at its best with the Old Montreal by Night Tour. See our website for a complete list of tours, schedules and rates. We also offer private tours.

Michel gave us a 6 hour tour that turned into 7. For someone unfamiliar with Montreal, it was an excellent introduction with good historical background. He is very flexible with the tour and will modify it on request. We were tired and the end but are glad we did it.

Michel gave me an excellent private tour of the city. No one else had signed up for that day, but Michel still did the tour (the six hour walking tour of the city) and it was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the city and its construction. He was also helpful in terms of figuring out how to navigate the city on my own later, leading me to my destination after the tour and giving me a map and tips on how to use the Metro (as I had never used public transit before). I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to go out and check out what downtown and old Montreal have to offer. There are no food stops built into the tour, but stopping for lunch was not a problem.

Michel gave our family a 3 hour tour of Old City. He was very nice and patient. Our parents and little sister got tired a few times and he adjusted the tour to make them feel comfortable. This tour is a great value and provides you with enough info and history of the city to feel an appreciation for it.

Michel was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Our grand tour was over 6 hours long, but it felt much shorter (except for our sore feet). Our family has taken tours all over the world, and Michel ranks right up there with the best of our guides. Merci beaucoup, Michel!

Thank you for the great words. If it didn't felt 6 hours on one of the hottest and humid day i've done this tour, it really means that you enjoyed it.
And I guess your day ended very well as you were watching your Blue Bombers winning against our Alouettes 19-11. ;-)

We go to Montreal a couple of times a year for a little overnight getaway, dinner out etc and usually stick to Old Montreal, Ste Catherine, the usual tourist stops with a bit of shopping, dinner out etc.
As we decided to extend our visit for a full weekend this time, we thought it might be fun to do something a little different. As the weather tends to be a bit unpredictable this time of year and after reading TA reviews, we booked the indoor walking tour with Michel - so happy we did! It was so interesting and amazing to discover all of the passages and underground developments that we never even realized existed!
Michel is very personable and knowledgeble and was more than happy to share the history and background of so many sites - it was an very fun eye-opener and I would highly recommend if you're not familiar at all that exists below the surface/street level! Very fun!!

It is always a pleasure to show new places even to frequent visitors and to Montrealers.
The fact that you do not give that many "5stars" in all your reviews make us appreciate even more the 5stars you gave.
Have a look to our website as new tours will be added so who knows? You might join in again and discover other places you still don't know.
