“A few steps away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

A few steps away from old Montreal and it's wonderful eating places, the waterfront and even convenient for business venues and la gare.
Most staff are friendly and courteous even if you do not speak Quebecqouis ? (Apologies if this is not correct spelling) very well.
Hotel is quiet, calm and has an outdoor eating area/garden. My bedroom was very clean, spacious and overlooked the garden. It also had air conditioning.

I have stayed at this property for a number of times now; both for business and for pleasure and I have never left disappointed. Staff is wonderful and very courteous. The rooms are wonderfully appointed and very spacy. And the location is downright fantastic; in the centre of Old Montreal; very close to great boutiques and some of the best restaurants around. I will be back in Montreal soon and there is only one choice of hotel for me....Le Saint-Sulpice!

I wish I could award 4 1/2 to this hotel. It has a superb location right next to the Notre Dame Basilica in the heart of Old Montreal. There is an ample selection of restaurants and nice shops within easy walking distance of the hotel.

The room itself was spacious, modern and had a nice Nespresso machine to use free of charge (picture included). We were right over the entrance of the St.Sulpice, looking over the cobblestone street. The staff was very friendly, and the concierge was particularly helpful in our selection of restaurants that were appropriate for two teenage boys.

Now, the only downside. The WiFi didn't work. At all in my experience, briefly for one of my boys. The network constantly seemed overwhelmed. When I went to the lobby to see if it was better, there was another guest walking around with his laptop. He and a staff member were trying to find a stronger signal. Does this matter on vacation? It really shouldn't, but I had failed to make a printout of a reservation for a bike tour, and I could not retrieve the location from GMail. Fortunately, there was a lobby computer I was able to use. However, if you need to VPN into work while on business this could be a big issue.

Otherwise, this is a superb hotel. If they fix the WiFi it will be hard to beat.

Smack dab in the middle of Old Montreal lies the Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel. Our Family was warmly greeted, the bags and car efficiently whisked away, and we were checked into our 4th floor Deluxe Suite early. The room was well appointed and clean; with huge windows that opened up to the cobblestone streets and action below. A fully supplied/equipped kitchen was also a convenient surprise. The room was very quiet with the windows shut; and everyone rested well; beds were perfect. Only negative; is the lighting in the bathroom and the slow internet. The concierge, the doormen, and housekeeping at Le Saint- Sulpice were all excellent. A special shout out/thank you to Mathieu, and Alain for helping arrange the the details of our stay. If you are looking for a beautiful top notch hotel within walking distance of great food, shops and sites Le Saint- Sulpice will not disappoint!

My husband has mobility problems so we requested a "special needs" room. We were told that it would be ready at 3pm, We arrived at 3:15 and had to wait one hour an a half. We asked how long we would have to wait, the staff didn't know and didn't seem to care. The bathroom floor didn't look clean, two doors in the suite were too narrow for a walker or wheel-chair. The room was located at the end of a long corridor. Patio access (steps and wide threshold) made it inaccessible. The bedroom phone was not charged, therefore unusable, The batteries in the TV remote were dead. We stayed two nights, but the access key was cancelled the second day so we had to walk back to the reception to have it re-programmed. The rest of the suite was nice and comfortable. The shortcomings are unfortunate as we liked the hotel and its location.

We stayed with our 11 month old daughter who needs warm milk and goes to bed early, so the suite at St Sulpice with mini kitchen area and lounge seperate to the bedroom was perfect for us. Very high quality, stylish hotel in a perfect location for Old Montreal.

Negatives: the wifi was appalling, often un-usably slow with frequent drop out, not great if your baby is asleep and you want to watch netflix! Also there was a wedding on the Saturday night and around 10pm for an hour they had very loud speeches and singing outside in the courtyard which disturbed us a lot and we were on the 5th floor. But the lady singing was so tone deaf it was actually pretty funny and in fairness to the hotel everything had moved inside and was nice and quiet by about 11pm.

And finally - why the cheese with the continental breakfast? It doesn't go with anything else on the plate. Minor thing but odd.
