My fiance and I (Late 20's, early 30's) recently stayed at Le Saint-Sulpice and the experience was amazing!! From the moment that you walk and and smell the lotus flowers that they pumps through fans (Only in the lobby, they don't pump the smells in individual rooms), you know you will be taken care of! The hotel was well kept and everyone was quite helpful, including the concierge! We checked with the concierge for each dinner on local suggestions of various price ranges and they always made excellent choices! The hotel is also in a great location in old Montreal, as you can walk to the water and you are directly next to Notre-Dame. There are tons of places nearby to walk to for coffee, food, shopping, etc.

The hotel was charming, and situated in the heart of the Old Town, perfect for sight-seeing and great restaurants. Our room on the third floor was comfortable, well-appointed and roomy. The only suggestion we might make for improvement would be in the lighting. Like many hotels today, this one has obviously cut back on the electric consumption. While we do appreciate the efforts at energy conservation, it was very difficult to get satisfactory lighting to apply make-up, etc.
The service at the front desk, the helpfulness of the valet/bellmen and especially the willingness of the Concierge to make our visit memorable, were outstanding. Thank you, St. Sulpice, for adding so much to a wonderful vacation.

This is our 5th time staying at Le St. Sulpice in winter and summer and it is always perfect. We travel with our two teenage kids and maltese dog and the hotel puts us into a fabulous "Murphy Bed" Suite on the ground floors with a separate bedroom and terrace. They even provide treats for the doggie. We appreciate the convenient and beautiful location in the center of Old Montreal. If you call the hotel directly, they can usually work a special discount for longer stays. The concierge and front staff are kind, pleasant and helpful and the porters are particularly attentive. Really, what more could you ask for in a vacation hotel except that the bar stay open later! Come and stay for a while, it's always a pleasure.

Room Tip: ask for a Murphy Bed Suite with balcony or terrace in summer or a fireplace in winter.

Great hotel in the middle of the Old Port - classy, comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. You're going to pay the rates and fees for the room/parking/etc, but that's inevitable! We were staying here two nights for our wedding, and the staff made sure we were very comfortable and helped us out when needed. Those friends who stayed here also enjoyed it. The restaurant terrasse is great, but the food there is not very good for the price - surprising for such a hotel.

Location: The Saint Sulpice is a pretty modern boutique hotel located in Old Montreal, about 10 minutes from the Metro station, 5 minutes to the Old Port, and 15 minutes from the airport bus. It's also a stone's throw away from the Notre Dame Cathedral. It blends in quite well with Old Montreal's architecture so make sure you have directions before heading over.

Room & Amenities: Spacious. I couldn't believe the size of the place. There's a separate sectioned off area for the queen bed. There's a small kitchenette with burners, pots, plans and plates. 3 complimentary Nespresso pods accompany the machine along with a Bodum electric kettle. There's two dated LCD TV's and an iPhone/iPod dock unfortunately with the old style 30 pin connector. Temperature-wise, the air conditioning worked well.

Bathrooms are nice with glass sinks, a large spacious bathtub and L'Occitane de Provence bath products. There's lots of mirrors everywhere too - a perfect time to check for abnormal looking moles.

Service was great and I have no complaints

Now some issues we had:
1) Our room was on the first floor and faced a restaurant courtyard. Any time we opened the curtains, the sheers were not opaque enough to block people from looking in. Moreover, there was the slight thump-thump-thump from the courtyard music. Fortunately, the music was turned off at night but it was there throughout the day.

2) Shower didn't have a lot of pressure.

My suggestion would be to get a room on a higher floor.

Room Tip: Avoid a courtyard facing room on the first floor unless you want people peeking into your room.

I had the pleasure of staying at Le Saint-Sulpice for three nights earlier this month. I smiled for the entire four days. Having chosen the hotel for its location and charm, I was very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an amazing suite (thank you André!)

My room was massive and had a fireplace, a jacuzzi and a king size bed. In addition to being nicely decorated, it also had a lovely terrace for morning coffee and/or evening drinks.

A single malt (Ben Riach 15yo, Tawny Port Finish) under the stars was a perfect way to cap off a perfect day involving a walking tour, a river cruise, a free show at the Jazz Festival, lunch at the classic Maison Christian Faure, dinner at the uber-trendy Hôtel Herman in Mile End and fireworks over La Ronde!

As nice as the room was, what defines Le Saint-Sulpice for me is the extraordinary service. From the time I booked the room to the time I left for the train station, I was treated with courtesy and respect. The three concierges (Alain, Maxime and Mathieu) were terrific. Trust their advice. They know the city inside out and give wonderful recommendations. Without Maxime's help, I would never have discovered Barbounya, a Turkish lounge/restaurant in Mile End with a fascinating menu of small plates that blend Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and North African influences.

The hotel isn't perfect (the spotty Wi-Fi, for example, got annoying). That said, I know exactly where I'm staying the next time in Montreal. I hope the Presidential Suite is available -- 'cause one you stay there, nothing else will do!

Fabulous large rooms with art deco styling, we had a fireplace and a lovely living room with separate bedroom. A nespresso machine and lovely L'Occtaine bath products sealed the deal. The restaurant and lobby bar are lovely, an outdoor patio made for the perfect evening. The concierge is superb, all of his recommendations were terrific!

Room Tip: ask for a fireplace or balcony
