Contrary to my expectations, the Springhill Suites was not a sprawling hotel. It is a compact hotel located on a side street off the main streets of Old Montreal, in the middle of the pedestrian street close to the river. Breakfasts were great and included protein, not just a continental breakfast, and service for anything else I needed was prompt (e.g. cream for the morning coffee in the room). I was very pleased that the hotel honoured my conference room rate for the two days after the conference.

Room Tip: I chose a room with morning sun to help with jet lag. The front of the hotel is vulnerable to some...

After having our flight cancelled and being re-routed to Ottawa and driving 114 miles in the dark we arrived to find a friendly man behind the hotel desk. He greeted us with a smile and professionalism. The room was clean, quiet and a great refuge after 17 hours of flying and driving! It's a typical Spring Hill Suites, but the location offers close proximity to great restaurants, the convention center and many important sites.

Our stay here was good. The location is ideal, staff is pleasant and the included breakfast had all we needed (coffee/tea, toasts, cakes, eggs, fruits and cereals etc.). Our room was also very clean and maitained daily. The location of this hotel is central to all the surrounding hotspot areas for night life. Some early mornings can be quite noisy from trucks and construction so, if you can help it and would preffer to sleep in stay in one of the higher units. We had the convenience of a microwave, fridge, sink, table 2 double beds and a pull out in our unit. It was a pleasant stay. Would truely return.

We were there on a conference rate, and for the price, the hotel was very good and ideally situated. The rooms And common areas were clean, the staff were pleasant and helpful. Free breakfast from 7-9:30 am was a nice adder. It's ideally situated roughly in the middle of all you might want to walk around and see in Old Montreal.

Cab ride from airport is a flat rate. Alternatively, STM airport bus #747 gets you within 5 block walk of the nearest stop, but with one block up hill.

Some things in hotel room showing signs of age. Air conditioner could be noisy, but windows can be opened which is nice to sleep with open at night in June. We were on the 6th floor which I think cut down on the noise late in the evening on Friday and Saturday night (particularity as World Cup fans were getting exciting about a game on)

Also, its about a 10 - 15 min walk to nearest metro station which was convinent.

All in all, a good stay.

Room Tip: Higher floor recommend for noise from street at night.

Dear Canadiantraveller027,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on Trip Advisor. We are so glad you enjoyed our service and amenities, and of course, our wonderful location! We do apologize for the noisy air conditioner and have advised our maintenance department. As well, you will be glad to know that all rooms will undergo extensive renovations in early 2015, per Marriott Brand Standards.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our newly revamped SpringHill Suites in the near future!

Best regards,

Ilona A

Comfortable Marriott bed, good value, great location in the heart of the Old Port. Not trendy or Luxurious but perfect for our vacation to Montreal. It seems that the designers took a normal sized hotel room and efficiently designed a compact little suite. Not a lot of room to maneuver around the bed but enough. We found the sink, fridge, microwave, table and counter in the little kitchen alcove very usable. With breakfast included it was great value. In short we loved our stay in this Marriott Suite Hotel.

Our room 614 had a wonderful view of the St. Lawrence River.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room with a view of the river.
