“Disappointing and poorly managed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2012

Had a reservation on saturday at 7pm. Arrived on time and our table was not ready but since there was no line up we thought it wouldn't be too long so we had a drink at the bar...Ended up waiting one hour before the manager offered us a private room but since the restaurant was emptying out we waited for one in the dining room. Perhaps it was a tactic to get up to spend more at the bar but that was a bad start to a birthday dinner. The manager did not come to the table to apologize not did he offer a drink or appetizers for the inconvenience. The food was ok but for the price I expected better. Luckily the drinks were excellent and the wait staff was courteous and apologetic. All in our group agreed that we would not return.

“Not worth the price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2012

16$ for a chicken breast and fries?
Maybe when Gordon R was around but this visit was nothing too exciting.
Restaurant was quiet and yes the 18$burger was big but that's it. The bar side had more action and decor was alot nicer.
They have a kids menu and some appetizers and specials.
Supposedly under new management recently again so the menu might change. For the price to eat at this place, Laurier street has other places. The chicken was really tasty and fries crispy.

“They modernized it and ruined it”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2012

The food is OK...it is not bad or anything...ut the prices dont justify the experience. I suppose you get a table cloth and linen napkins...but so what? The old Chalet BBQ had superior chicken, better sauce and the prices made sense.

“Good BBQ Chicken but not good value”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2012

We decided to give the former Laurier BBQ a try.
Three of us had the BBQ chicken, which was quite good, including the sauce, coleslaw & fries.
However, at $21. with tax & tip, IMO it's over-priced.
Chalet BBQ and Cote St-Luc BBQ offer better value, however with less attractive decor and atmosphere.

“Liked it better as Laurier BBQ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2012

Before chef Gordon Ramsey got his hands on it, Laurier BBQ was one of the better chicken joints in town. Now it is an overpriced tourist trap. Go to Chalet for better chicken. Gordon, if it ain't broke,. don't fix it.
