I went back to Laurier BBQ for the first time since its makeover. What a disappointment. I don't know if you can blame it on the failed association with Gordon Ramsay and company, but the chicken was dry, the fries desiccated and cold, the salad ordinary and wilted and the service slower than ever. I used to love the place - especially a Sunday evening dinner with my family. Not anymore. A great Montreal tradition - destroyed.

This used to be our go to place when we wanted a great soup & chicken. Have times changed- Gordon Ramsey certainly didnt help- removing pea soup in Quebec- what was anyone thinking?? Changing the gravy- boy oh boy,how awful !!
prices-ridiculous- Taste almost gone.
Saturday night 8:15-almost empty
This was a great Montreal institution- quelle domage!!!!

Had a reservation on saturday at 7pm. Arrived on time and our table was not ready but since there was no line up we thought it wouldn't be too long so we had a drink at the bar...Ended up waiting one hour before the manager offered us a private room but since the restaurant was emptying out we waited for one in the dining room. Perhaps it was a tactic to get up to spend more at the bar but that was a bad start to a birthday dinner. The manager did not come to the table to apologize not did he offer a drink or appetizers for the inconvenience. The food was ok but for the price I expected better. Luckily the drinks were excellent and the wait staff was courteous and apologetic. All in our group agreed that we would not return.

16$ for a chicken breast and fries?
Maybe when Gordon R was around but this visit was nothing too exciting.
Restaurant was quiet and yes the 18$burger was big but that's it. The bar side had more action and decor was alot nicer.
They have a kids menu and some appetizers and specials.
Supposedly under new management recently again so the menu might change. For the price to eat at this place, Laurier street has other places. The chicken was really tasty and fries crispy.

The food is OK...it is not bad or anything...ut the prices dont justify the experience. I suppose you get a table cloth and linen napkins...but so what? The old Chalet BBQ had superior chicken, better sauce and the prices made sense.
