“Nice place to have a breakfast and quick lunch”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

They have great coffees with so many variations. They serve good muffins with eggs and bacon and lettuce for breakfast. They are nicely presented. The service is friendly with a good ambiance. The price is decent

“Love this coffee shop!”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

The coffee selections are (in our opinion) better than Starbucks - and we love Starbucks! The lunches are also a great value and delicious. The desserts are divine. It's so relaxing to sit on the Rue St. Denis with a good book, sipping a latte.

“very good breakfast”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

took subway to st joseph's oratory on july 6, 2013 - on the way stopped for breakfast here - outdoor seating, but wanted to eat inside

my eggs and my girlfriend's omelet were excellent! the side order of french toast was also good; the coffee was very good

the price was very, very good for what we had (under $25 dollars)

would recommend this place !!

The ambiance is good and the place smells freshly roasted coffee.

“Not worth seeking out...”
Reviewed 17 February 2013

For those of you who want a glimpse back into the past of coffee houses in Montreal, there is Brûlerie St-Denis.

Today, with new cafes popping up regularly, owned and staffed by young people who are passionate about what they do, the Brûlerie St-Denis is an example of the old way of doing things. And not for the better.

It's a chain. The employees are just that and they most certainly are not having much of a good time. This is not a friendly or at all interesting place. In fact (I'm posting this from the one in Le Petit Laurier) there is a rather miserable vibe.

The panini sandwiches okay; the coffee, I'd say, *below* par, considering what other places are brewing.

With so many fun and funky cafes in the city these days, I cannot recommend this rather grim, joyless example of Montreal's first wave of cafes.
