“Really Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2012

We stayed here in 2011 and previously in 2009; each time for 2 or 3 nights. Both stays were great experiences.
To start , this is a beautiful old building loaded with great modern artwork.......Warhol , Frank Stella; too many to mention....every floor. Location , right at the old city and a short walk to the metro.
The rooms are incredible.....12 ft ( ?) windows, the furnishings are top quality. Immaculately clean. On our second visit, when we arrived , they asked us to move to another room, which was an upgrade at no extra charge. An hour later, they apologized and asked us to move back to the original room....knocked about $25 off the price and also through in breakfast for every morning we were there.....a $12 charge normally per person. They also offered staff to come to our room and repack our bags for us.
Everyone who works here is extremely friendly, competent and helpful.
We wanted to get a reservation at Au Pied de Cochon, which ,on the short notice for a Fri night seemed unlikely. But the concierge called and then asked " Would you mind sitting at the bar ? " Me, " Oh, you mean where Anthony Bourdain sat when he filmed his program there ?.......well, OK "
The breakfasts at L'Hotel are really good. the chocolate croissants are cooked here and you can smell them and the coffee as you enter the very cool breakfast room.
We were traveling with our good road bikes , so they offered to lock them in their vault.....this building was a bank at one time. they also helped load and unload them from our roof rack.
Everything about the place is great.
We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Montreal. Worth every penny.
I can't come up with any negatives at all.

I just want to say "thank you" for the most pleasurable experience that our family has ever had in a hotel. We were treated just like family. From the time we arrived we were greeted by Corey, then Nicholas, then Christoper and then Michael. In addition to the people named, everyone in this wonderful hotel could not have been nicer. The level of service and the personal attention is by far the best. We just want to thank all of you for being so wonderful to us.

The most charming hotel! If you want to stay in a hotel that awakens your senses and where you are treated like family by all staff, this is the place to be. I’ve just had the nicest stay at the LHotel and could not recommend it enough.
The LHotel is about location, it’s about art and it’s about attention to detail.
A big thank-you to all the staff –especially to David and Niko- for making my visit to Montreal even more memorable.

Room Tip: If you are familiar with the artists they showcase (Miro, Robert Indiana, Lichtenstein, Warhol, Fran...

Located in Old Town, this great little hotel is a real find. There is modern art in every room. The staff were youthful and extremely helpful. There was always someone there who spoke English. Parking price was a bargain at $20 but you don't need a car to get around this area. (In New York, we've paid $50 so don't usually want to go by car.)

The people in Montreal were very helpful when we took the Metro and two busses to get to the St. Joseph Oratory and Mont Royal. Twice I was given a seat by a young man. That doesn't happen here on our DCMetro. I was quite impressed with the hotel, the staff, the food, and the people of this beautiful city.

Room Tip: Choose a room dedicated to an artist. Ours was Chambre Cristo, a large quiet room.

LHotel was very well located, in old Montreal, a few blocks from the main station & metro, and just near the airport bus route. If first impressions count, it offered a very elegant entry & lobby/bar, and large comfortable rooms with sound proof windows, nice views over historic buildings opposite (were being used as a backdrop for film/tv whilst we were there). It is an easy walk to numerous nice restaurants, and sites such as the basilica, and the old town, waterfront and the like. We'd definitely return here & have already recommended it to friends & family.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a nice view over historic buildings.

We had a great experience here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommended great restaurants and showed us where to go on a map. We had our 2 year old with us and they always helped us carry the stroller up and down the entry stairs. The valet was great. We did not have trouble parking right in front. With the valet, you can get your car at any time without charge which is nice as Montreal is pretty spread out (and expensive to take cabs) so we drove around a little one day to see the rest. I was glad they at least had valet as many of the other hotels on here are very clsoe by and didn't appear to have easier parking situtations. The location is great though, walking distance to Old Montreal which is the main attraction anyway. The room was very nice and clean, spacious enough to fit a port-a-crib and we did have a fridge in the room which was very convenient for us to keep our son's milk in. It was also quiet and could be made very dark by pulling the shades which was useful as the sun came up early/went down late in May. We had the hotel breakfast on the last day, it was good, not cheap but nothing in Montreal is.

2 nights in this hotel for the long weekend. Great location in old town Montreal just 5 minutes walk to Notre Dame! Walkng distance to all european style restaurants and boutiques.
Slightly difficult to find a spot in front of the hotel to park, even for checking in or anytime we pulled in for valet parking, yet great fast valet service. Staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we checked in. We arrived 2 hours earlier than usual check time but our was quite ready. Very cozy artistic hotel with different artistic taste in the lobby and every floor. We had spacious Andy Warhol suite in 4th floor with nice classic decoration. LOVE from first sight!!!
We didn`t try the restaurant or bar in the hotel because there were lots of options with nice patios near old port and we decided to eat out everyday. But the hotel`s food service and menu seemed to be very decent. In terms of house keeping, room was super clean with nice toiletries. The only criticism I had was with this upscale service they should be more generous with some room supplies. The second night we asked for couple of water bottles and coffee K Cups to make coffee in the room as coffee machine was provided. The receptionist told us that it would be $1 charge for each which I found it cheap for a high rating hotel.
Overall great experience. Definitely will go back.
