“Great three nights!”
Reviewed 21 November 2013

Hotel and staff were impressive and helpful. A great place to stay. Our dinner in the restaurant was truly delicious. Our attractive suite was just what we wanted. Beds were great! We would very happily return when next in Montreal. Highly recommend it!!

We just returned from a 4-night stay at the Square Phillips Hotel and Suites. It was a great place to stay and we were so impressed by the hotel and staff. From the moment we arrived they were so accommodating and did everything to make our experience enjoyable. I have 2 young children, and when we walked in the door the front desk staff wheeled out a wagon and each of my girls were allowed to choose a toy from the wagon. They were so thrilled. The room we stayed in (910) was unbelievable! It was so spacious, and had everything we needed including a huge bathroom and own kitchen. The whole room (apartment!) was spotless, and very comfortable. The hotel was very quiet. The pool was enjoyable. The staff were so accommodating as we were leaving/checking out, and offered to load our luggage into our vehicle while we went out for lunch! When we arrived back, they brought our car from the valet parking completely packed up for us. Amazing service! The breakfast was very good, with lots of selection, including a variety of fresh fruit. It was well maintained and the staff were very friendly.
Overall our experience was excellent, and was over and above our expectations.
I would definitely stay here again in the future!

We went to Montreal for a Girls weekend and really felt the stay at Philips Square made it much more enjoyable.
The concierges were the best starting from the contact a few weeks before regarding parking until we left at the end of our stay. Simon and Kelvan were the ones we had the pleasure of seeing most often but the other guys also were very helpful when we had the opportunity to talk to them.. They gave us great recommendation about how to get where we wanted to go and places to eat. The restaurants they suggested were spot on ! As far as the room I was very impressed with the cleanliness and how big the room was. It was nice to have a kitchen although we did not cook it was nice to have the refrigerator and table. When I return to Montreal I would definitely book a room again. One recommendation was the Bellagio Ristorante and it was wonderful !

My wife and I stayed here as the last stop on our honeymoon in February 2013 in room 504 (overlooking the street). We had our reservations about staying at an apartment-hotel, but we were blown away with the staff here.

Being the final leg of a long journey, we had some trouble paying with our credit cards, but the staff were incredibly patient and understanding while we sorted out issues with our bank, which we really appreciate.

The room we had was essentially a studio apartment with plenty of room, a small kitchenette and dining area and an ample bathroom.

The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic - for example in winter we found it easy to jump across the square to access RÉSO and hide from the elements if we wanted to! Likewise the area is not noisy at all and we slept really well.

I stayed here for 6 nights on a recent business trip to Montreal. The most important things for me are cleanliness, noise levels and comfort and this hotel did very well on all counts. My room was huge and included its own kitchen, the bathroom was a good size, the bed comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. This was really a suite or small apartment. The noise was minimal from outside, and nothing from the rooms next door or above. The free breakfast is a buffet with various things to toast plus cereal, muffins, fruit and yoghurt, with juices and coffee. This made for quite a light breakfast, but that’s not a bad thing! The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect, it is almost on St. Catherine, and only a short walk to old Montreal. The hotel is reasonably priced and I would recommend it for business or pleasure trips.

Le Square Phillips is a great value for those looking for something more homey than a hotel stay. The 'rooms' are really apartments with a decent size kitchen and dining area. The interior furnishing are a bit dated but overall still a fairly comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable. We had two couples staying in a two double beds suite and there were more than enough room for all of us to roam around.

The kitchen is fairly well stocked. They have full size refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, cooking utensils, wine glasses and all kinds dining wares. However, they do not have spice rack or any cooking oil. Most of the knifes in our room were quite dull so keep that in mind if you are planning to do any serious cooking.

Hotel complimentary breakfast was wonderful. It is continental style but they have great varieties. Love those Montreal style bagels.

If weather permits do spend some time at their roof top pool. The night sky of Montreal downtown is beautiful.

Terrific alternative to pricey downtown hotel rooms, this Cormier building (renovated from its former glory as a warehouse) boasts high ceilings, quirky architectural details and simple comfort. Kitchens have full sized appliances including dishwasher, with adequate utensils/cooking implements, though a microwave-safe, covered casserole for heating food would be a welcome addition. Quite quiet too, with no noise from the street (we were on the top, tenth floor), no sound spill over from neighbours (except some click clacking high heels on either the ceramic bathroom or kitchen floor middle of the night!). We had a queen studio and the sleeping alcove, though it had no window, was cozy and well appointed. For take away prepared foods, there's a Fou d'Ici within five minutes walk on de Maisonneuve, as well as a SAQ for wine. The weather was wet and windy, so didn't get the opportunity to check out the roof deck, but it looks lovely from the pix online.

We had been looking for a new place to stay as our favourite Hotel du Fort has closed and this is it. Not quite as large or bright as Hotel du Fort's suites, and not the same type of fabulous view with large windows on two sides, but it's certainly got a better location and better amenities.

Staff was gracious and friendly and helpful. Very clean too.

Included breakfast was fine. Every carb imaginable, including some gluten free choices, fruits, yoghurt, coffee/tea. You can eat in the breakfast room or take food up to your suite on a tray. They don't frown on this, so no one is sneaking apples, muffins and yoghurt out in their purse!
