This hotel is a pleasure. Large clean quiet! room with high ceilings, a comfortable bed, functional kitchen and roomy bath; continental breakfast room on the second floor. Walking distance to museums and shopping; great little Asian noodle restaurant right down the street. The staff are wonderful, look no further .......................

Our travel agent had suggested another hotel for our 3-night stay, but we booked here because of reviews for this hotel. We are so glad we did!

It must have been a quiet time because we were upgraded to a suite - a first for us. :)) With an entry hall, large lounge room, kitchen / dining area, two sleeping areas and big bathroom, it was as big as some houses! High ceilings added to the space and the kitchen contained everything necessary. The whole was spotless. It was wonderful after having lived out of a suitcase for the previous four weeks and sometimes falling over each other in poky hotel and B&B rooms.

Even if we had stayed in a basic room, I'm sure we would have been equally impressed. The pool area was secure and clean, (although a clock would have been handy); it was a pleasure to use the laundry (very clean, bright and with a view over the surrounding area); and the buffet breakfast suited us just fine.

The location was ideal; close to main streets, the subway, underground shopping and a few blocks from the 747 bus to the airport. (Remember to have the exact fare.) There are two small supermarkets and a fruit stall nearby in rue Ste Catherine.

The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Sebastian. We would certainly stay here when visiting Montreal again.

Stayed at the Square Phillips the nights of Nov. 1 and 2 to attend a nearby business meeting. First trip to Montreal. Hotel is in a great location - lots of bars and restaurants, underground shops nearby. A couple of blocks from the McGill stop on the Metro. My suite was huge - more like a downtown apartment than a hotel. Very clean. Art deco decor. Bed was comfortable. Free wifi (ask for the access code when you check in). Occasional distant outside noise but nothing that kept me awake (what do you expect - you're in the middle of the city). Staff was friendly and helpful. Everytime I was in the lobby, they were attentive and ready to assist without being overbearing. Breakfast is served on the second floor - for someone looking for something quick and light, it was more than adequate. A hotel with character.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Montreal. Apparently it used to be a warehouse and was converted to a hotel, so the rooms are very unique, with super-high ceilings. Super-clean room with all the amenities. Not cheap, but about what you'd expect for a downtown hotel. Valet parking only and for a $22 fee. Restaurant serves breakfast only, which is a major limitation, and there was only one menu from a local Italian restaurant (Zia) in the room, although I must say it was tremendous Italian food! The hotel was not easy to find, but then again nothing is in Montreal. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a nice hotel within walking distance of Old Town and steps from Ste. Catherine street shopping. Breakfast is plain and simple but good. The pool isn't that big or deep but good for lengths. Valet parking is indoors and secure. Staff is friendly.
