We stayed at Hotel Nelligan for Easter weekend. It exceeded expectations in every way. Most of all, the hotel staff was the friendliest and most helpful of any hotel I've stayed at. We used the concierge service daily and Nicolas helped us select the restaurant styles we were looking for, and took the extra step to ensure we received reservations at the times we desired. Each restaurant he suggested to us met our criteria and we would not have identified them on our own if not for his help. Every question we had was easily addressed.

The hotel is in amazing condition and well kept. The restaurants/bars at the hotel offer different experiences depending on your mood, and they all deliver on those expectations with the sophistication and quality you would desire.

From our first steps into the charming lobby, where we were greeted with smiles, proficiency, and gracious service always sincere in pleasing.... We fully enjoyed our stay. The attached Verse restaurant is high-end with excellent talent in the kitchen and serving staff. We anticipate our return!
We commend the following exceptional staff: Daisy, the manager, who takes time to lead and teach her team and communicate with guests, Marie-Claude who at breakfast is the quintessential goddess of grace, and Marie-France, restaurant server with warmth and skill. And, everyone at the front desk, who were so professional, friendly and accommodating.

Room Tip: We stayed in a king bed suite which was quiet, roomy and well appointed. great linens and pillows.

Wanting to escape from the humdrum of rural Ontario, we decided to go to Old Montreal for a taste of French culture. Our one-night stay at the Nelligan on Rue St. Paul, did the trick. From the moment we pulled up in our car to be greeted immediately by a friendly and handsome concierge, we knew that we were in good hands. All of the staff were highly professional and anticipated our every need, including a complementary drink at the well appointed bar in the atrium. The European style room complete with brick walls and tasteful décor was clean and efficient. I could hardly wait to sink into the king sized pillow topped bed covered by a cloud-like down duvet and super soft pillows. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the waitress very cheerful and classy.
All in all, my husband and I agreed that the Nelligan offered us a grand escape from the mundane.

The Hotel Nelligan is a top notch establishment that provides outstanding service. You will not be disappointed. Our contact with reception, concierge, valet, and wait staff was always an exceptional experience. Many activities are within walking distance including wonderful bakeries and restaurants. Your car will be well cared for and at your service in a blink of the eye. Our room was large and kept spotless. There was a large bathroom, small refrigerator with mini bar, and an assortment of goods for purchase. Nightly turn down included chocolate; a very nice touch. The hotel has two restaurants; both quite different in dining experience yet both providing great dinners. If you'd like something different, venture out to some of the local spots for breakfast. You can walk and enjoy the aura of old Montreal.

Room Tip: Saturday night on Rue St-Paul was noisy even in April. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs o...

Although we live in Montreal, because of our two teenagers we decided to celebrate our 25th in our own city. The Hotel Nelligan was the perfect choice: comfortable and elegant room, fabulous service and the best location, right in Old Montreal. When we arrived the staff asked if there was any special occasion and suggested we start our evening at the cocktail lounge. The cocktails are fabulous: great combos and not too sweet. We followed up with a meal at the wonderful Hotel restaurant called Verse. hotel food is often mediocre but we'd heard good thing about this place and it was really outstanding. We had a 10 course degustation dinner that was fabulous. Because is it sugar bush season the theme was maple syrup. Each plate was a masterpiece both visually and to the palate. And the service was very attentive.. after when we went up to our room we had a congratulations card from the staff with chocolate covered strawberries. Nice attention. The next morning we had breakfast at nearby Olive and Gourmando, one of our favorites and we spent the rest of the weekend doing Montreal things. This hotel is the perfect place for a very special memorable stay.

Stayed in Hotel Nelligan twice more for work and these two times treated myself to their penthouse suite -- it's simply fabulous. Like having a lovely terraced apartment in Old Montreal. There is a great kitchen with big fridge, dining table, long work table, fireplace, 2 bedrooms and two baths. The master bath is large with a big tub and lots of nice products . Best of all, there is a huge terrace which you can walk out on from the dining/living area. From the terrace one can see Notre Dame Cathedral and look down upon Old Montreal. The front desk people are totally helpful, as is everyone else who works there. Treat yourself to the penthouse - it's worth it!!

Room Tip: My room was 513.

This hotel was truly exceptional in everyway. From the moment we entered the front door until our departure the service was fantastic. Our room was beautifully decorated and had everything that you could ever need. The location was right in the middle of Old Downtown Montreal and within walking distance to everything. We have been to many smaller boutique hotels but this is truly special. If you are looking for something quiet and romantic this is the place. We found the price was more than reasonable for what we received.
