“Wonderful room, service, location”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

We were in Montreal for a three day visit and chose the Nelligan because of TripAdvisor. It certainly lived up to our expectations and more. Valet parking, the only offering was prompt and courteous. The concierge was especially accommodating, spending extra time helping us get the most out of our time.
But it was the room that was best. We had #402, and it was superb! Very quiet, great king bed, and roomy and luxurious. Yes, it was pricey, but worth it!
Visiting the rooftop bar/bistro Noah gave us attentive service. We were a little discouraged by the $19 buffet breakfast which only had hard boiled eggs, and little fruit, but that was the only glitch in a great stay (we did not have dinner in the hotel, so except for lunch on the roof have no comments).

Very nice boutique hotel with a fantastic location in Old Montreal. Extremely nice staff. We also had brunch at Verses, which was absolutely fantastic as well. Pre-arranged in-room service was very nicely done and in a timely fashion as well. Would stay here again.

This is a fine old hotel located in the heart of the old city - really you can not beat the location. The hotel was elegant and the staff is well-trained and very helpful, really first-rate service. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, however there were a few minor annoyances (in my room, who knows about others?). The bathroom was spacious and clean with a giant shower stall, but to get into the giant stall you needed to squeeze past the toilet. The vanity was an enormous wooden structure where the feet of the vanity are right where your feet should go, so it was tough to get close to the sink, and the lighting over the vanity didn't quite light your face enough. Finally the (powerful) AC unit made a groaning noise every time the compressor engaged. Again, these are all minor things but combined they were enough to prevent a 5-star rating by me for my stay in that room.

This is an outstanding hotel that caters t every need. Situated in the old Montreal area it blends in with its surroundings but is outstanding for the traveller. It is a boutique hotel that has all of the amenities. The continental breakfast was very nice and the wine happy hours are appreciated.
We visited during a particularly cold spell and felt like snug bugs in the warmth of the hotel.
The staff is extra nice especially the concierges who are very knowledgeable about their city and can offer you a lot of insight including where to get some very warm clothing at fair prices.
This is not my first visit to the hotel and you can find some very good deals in less traveled times of the year.

Room Tip: Look fir bargains in the of season like winter but not during the festival times of the year. SOme o...

My wife and stayed three nights on holiday. Great location in Old Montreal. Room was spacious and quiet. Super comfortable bed. Excellent staff. Continental breakfast was adequate in nice setting. Be aware that price of hot breakfast served at table is about the same as buying up the room to include buffet continental. Great roof top open air bar and restaurant - Verses Sky. Great place to stay.

Room Tip: Old part with old brick and wood in walls.

A charming boutique hotel in the heart of Old Montreal. Staff is very knowledgable, very fluent in both French and English, and provides a true spirit of hospitable service. The front desk team is very helpful, and the conceirges can almost make magic happen (Maude is a rock star concierge). The lobby area of the hotel is amazing for relaxing with your favorite beverage - like being in a fun casual living room. And I've stayed in multiple room types, and each has it's own character and personality. Averall, a real gem - very different from the major chain hotels in the area - charming and super convenient to all of Old Montreal, the Bell Center, etc. I stay in many many hotels around the world, and am frequently in Montreal. Hotel Nelligan is now my favorite in Montreal.

Room Tip: If your budget allows, I recommend one of the junior suites. Spacious, amazing bathroom, and a fire...

The Hotel Nelligan is a gem. The check in process was warm and efficient. The room was a very good size with plenty of storage. The bathroom was very large with a tub and wonderful stall shower.
The restaurant Verses is top rate French food.
However the highlight was Maude, the concierge . She was amazing from handling restaurant reservations as well as obtaining a guide for the underground city. The guide was a gem.
My wife and I loved the experience.
