Stayed for two nights in April. Located on Rue St Denis in the Plateau area. 10- 15 mins to downtown walking, 5 mins to metro station.

Room had a bathroom and kitchen with fridge and microwave and grill. Water and orange juice in the fridge. Coffee maker also for breakfast Croissant delivered each morning.

Very clean and Murphy bed was very comfortable.

Nice area nice place to stay and reasonably priced

Room Tip: I stayed in the economy room, overlooking the Rue St Denis, not that a busy road in the morning, not...

Anne, is our home away from home in Montreal. There is enough variety in the rooms to give a traveller what s/he needs. Small rooms can be opened combined into comfortable suites. Fresh coffee and croissants at your door make sleeping in easy. There is enough space in your personal kitchen facilities to eat breakfast or lunch in. Step out of this pension you're in the midst of the best shopping and clubs in Montreal. (Be sure to check out Kaliyana which is just a few steps away. It sports some of the most interesting fashion in Canada.) The jazz clubs are open late and the streets are alive with music and energy at night. Anne is very European in an artists' neigborhood. If you're not comfortable in such and environment, you need to look elsewhere.

Hotel Anne Ma Soeur is really well-located and perfectly appointed for getting a taste of Montréal centred around the artsy rue St. Denis. This is not a big chain hotel with all the amenities. It is a great deal, really well priced, clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located.

Delicious fresh croissants, one per registered guest, are delivered and hung on your room doorknob each morning. Paired with the juice in the room fridge, this is just enough to start a lazy morning, or to fuel the first stretch of your walk exploring rue St. Denis. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, working out of a small and slightly awkward office at the top of a flight of stairs.

Free street parking can be found if you don't mind driving around nearby blocks and carefully monitoring the complex rules that govern Montreal street parking. Pay parking can also be arranged in a nearby lot. You probably won't want to use your car while you're in Montreal. Taxis are inexpensive and the city is relatively small for a major centre. You will want to walk, take the metro (subway) or wave down a taxi to get to popular neighbourhoods. Rue St. Laurent and the plateau Mont Royal are just a few very walkable blocks West and North. Rue Sherbrooke is just South of you. On a nice day I like to walk down the hill to explore the shops, restaurants and art of Old Montreal, then cut through the Financial District to get to rue Ste. Catherine shopping and end at the Marche Atwater before jumping on the Metro to come home.

The rooms are comfortable and trendy but not opulent, similar to some european accommodations, but with private baths and a bit more square footage. I would recommend this as a home base for a budget adventure getaway, longer stay business trip, couples or family.

Room Tip: Adjoining rooms are a great deal for a couples trip or families with children. Get the privacy of t...

It is definitely a great place to stay! We went back the second time and got a different room. The shower didn't work and the staff instantly gave us a new room. It's very clean and I like the mini kitchen we have. Our room has a very nice street view and I liked it. They have breakfast included in the morning which is a plus, I love the croissant.

Room Tip: Stairs could be icy during winter time, be careful.

The pictures uploaded on the website were mere deception. The room was unbelievably small... We went there for our anniversary and read too many good reviews about this hotel... But sadly, the staff weren't that helpful. I told the woman that we thought the rooms would be at least a bit bigger or they should have put pictures of the smaller rooms online.. But she said we'd have to pay $50 to be upgraded. No good at all. The only good thing is the location. If you're looking for comfort, stay away.

This hotel is for a Lonely Planet (or Budget Travel) travel who's used to the efficient urban living and enjoys the hustle and bustle of a major city (think NYC, Paris and Tokyo). It's small, but clean, fully functional, with a friendly staff, and in the heart of a hip neighborhood. I stayed for two days at a studio and absolutely loved it. You'd never get such great value on your money in any of the aforementioned cities. It's also close to metro stations, so easy access to other attractions. Btw, a ride from the airport to the hotel is about CAD45, plus tip. Now, if you're someone who cares about indoors entertainment (e.g. big TV, bar in the hotel, fancy gym, business center etc.), the hotel is not for you.

Room Tip: There's not nearly as much noise as that in NYC, if your room faces the street (Rue St. Denis...
