My partner and I stayed at this hotel during the coldest winter we have had in many a year. The main reason we picked the hotel was that it had heated underground parking. We were pleasantly surprised with everything else, considering what some have said about it on this site.
it looks like the hotel was originally an apartment building. Due to this the celings seem a bit low to our modern eyes, however, the room we had was large and clean. The kitchen was in good shape and the appliances looked new. The bathroom was clean and had obviously been updated a bit, but more updates could have been done. The fixtures were older, but in good working order.
Our room had an expansive balcony, but as it was -40C with the wind chill we did not take advantage of it. The view from our room was a pretty one of Mont Royal and the hospital. The hotel itself is on a sidestreet, so in the summer it might not suffer from as much noise as others on busier streets.
The staff were wonderful, all helpful, cheerful and good at their jobs.
It is a very short walk (about 3 minutes tops) to a shopping mall that has several places to eat in it as well as an access point to the Atwater metro station. There is an IGA at the mall as well that has many ready to eat options as well as the usual grocery items.
We will definitely consider this hotel again, should we be in the area.

This hotel looks quaint but is actually quite large. I stayed two days and found the staff helpful and friendly. They took care of every question and need with a smile. The room was quiet, comfortable and well-kept. The breakfast was the best I have ever had at a Residence Inn. Overall, a great experience.

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond! Everyone I spoke to were kind and willing to do everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the suite and enjoyed the kitchenette. The room seemed a little dated for the price we paid and for the name, "Mariott" There is a door that goes out to a balcony and there was a strong cold wind that would come through the door. As a result it was hard to keep the room above 70 degrees. It was -26 outside, so that might have been a factor. I put the chair against the door and piled up the cushions to stop the wind and it helped. When I mentioned the cold temperatures at the front desk, they sent a heater and extra blankets for us (again service was excellent). Breakfast is delicious - everything you could ask for. Although I did hear others complaining about being cold at night too. The location of the hotel is close to the subway (Atwater) which is near downtown.

Dear Cheryl-Lynne

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at our property through the Tripadvisor community.

At the Residence Inn Montreal Westmount, we strive to be your home away from home. We are therefore delighted to read that team members went above and beyond during your stay with us! Our spacious, well-appointed studios and suites all feature a fully-equipped kitchen, which we are glad you enjoyed. We are also happy to hear that you enjoyed our complimentary hot and cold buffet breakfast, featuring an extensive food selection which changes daily.

We proudly offer 24 hour service and are happy to hear that our staff was able to make your room a little more comfortable, given the extreme cold that Montreal experienced in recent days.

Hoping you had a pleasant journey home, we are looking forward to having the opportunity to welcome you back.

Sincerely,

I usually stay here on my visits to Montreal. Have never been disappointed. The staff are very helpful and look for ways to make the stay more enjoyable. This last time they upgraded my room, not always the case but it does happen when possible. Highly recommended.

I really liked this hotel the staff were helpful right from checking in on day one they really go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need during you're stay. theres never any issue should you need something and they always make sure to check that you're happy with everything in the room. There is a free breakfast from 6.30 in morning Monday to Friday and 7.00 on weekends good selection of hot and cold food everything you need to set you up in the morning before work. The hotel is kept nice and clean and tidy housekeeping had my room sorted every day by the time i returned. The location is great right situated in the downtown area so plenty of shops, restaurants bars etc. all close by and atwater metro station is just around the corner so you're all covered should decide to go and do some exploring you'll be thankful for this during the winter months!
