perfect location, very pretty, has a great balcony to sit and relax, continental breakfast very nice and plentiful runs from 9-10:30 ideal for people who want to sleep in.

down side: can get a little noisy due to the close proximity of a small bar, walls are pretty thin can hear noise from the next room. no bar fridge to sotre your wine.

Very clean and friendly, would reccommend and would consider staying again although a little on the pricey side.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is the best location.

When our luggage was lost/misplaced by the airline, and our cell phones wouldn't work in Canada,
our concierge, Pasele (?sp.) really saved the day, making innumerable phone calls, castigating those in need of castigation (in French - I knew we were in trouble when she said into the phone, "C'est tres dommage!"), and staying past her shift end at 10 PM until our bags arrived. Really service above and beyond the call of duty. We were so re-invigorated by the miraculous re-appearance of our luggage, we ventured down to the waterfront for a beautiful fireworks display.

The hotel was small and picturesque, and breakfast was excellent. If you'd like to be in Old Town, and especially if you're leaving on a cruise from Montreal in the AM (the pier is a 5 minute walk), this was a fabulous place to stay.

NB Thanks again, Pasele.

I'm giving this place 2 "stars" if you will because of the location. You can't beat staying in Old Town Montreal. I'm not giving it a higher rating for the following reasons:

1. The B&B isn't managed. Someone leaves at 8:00pm and doesn't return until 8:00am.

2. The staff is just rude, so insanely rude. I've traveled extensively and I've never encountered such a rude staff. Not only did they fail to book appointments as promised, but come 11:02am the morning of checkout, we received a knock on our door asking us to leave (we were in the process of gathering our baggage).

3. The breakfast is worth nothing. You'd be better off walking a block down the street.

4. The WiFi doesn't work.

5. Did I mention the rude, unprofessional staff?

Bottom line, I cannot comprehend how this place stays in business. I will NEVER stay here again.

Beautiful entrance, clean and close to market, BUT our mattress was hard (my shoulders and hips hurt when I laid on my side) and you can hear everything at night (every step someone makes on stairs, walking on the floor above, talking from other rooms, and the closing up of next door restaurant. I felt ripped off for the price.
We would rather pay the same amout to stay at a chain with better amenitites.

Room Tip: Top floor so you don't have to hear people walking and talking above you.

The Old Montreal location is excellent. Rooms 5 and 6 are not -- beds jammed into corners and sloped ceilings make most of the space in each room unusable. And you will bang your head. Many times. These rooms are not worth the $250+ per night price tag.

Room 1 is right off the front door/lobby. The hotel was very quiet when we were there, despite most of the rooms being occupied, so I don't know if noise would be a problem for this room.

Breakfast is ok -- store-bought bread products, fruit, hardboiled/deviled eggs, cereal, etc. Because it's Canada, the food is of higher quality than in the USA.

Room Tip: Don't get rooms 5 or 6.

My son and husband and I recently stayed at this B & B for three nights. We had a great experience. The location is perfect - near lots of restaurants and shops. The B& B is very clean and well-kept. The breakfasts were wonderful - the best croissants I have ever eaten, delicious deviled eggs, tasty breads, and a lovely fresh fruit salad. And really good coffee!

There is a lovely courtyard at the front of Auberge Bonsecours with pretty flowers and tables to sit at and enjoy the outdoors away from the street.

This was our second visit and we will certainly stay there again. We were very sorry to leave!

perfectly appointed, with a very lovely and helpful staff. seven rooms of comfort and charm, set well off the road for privacy. there is a lovely terrace for relaxing, both upstairs and downstairs! Staff is very knowledgeable of area and can help with reservations and tickets when needed. in old Montreal, but a couple of blocks from the promenade, so quiet even on the busy holidays! I highly recommend!

Room Tip: number four has it's own entrance to the upstairs terrace...like having your own private terrace...

Right across the street from the famed Bonsecours Market, Auberge Bonsecours is the perfect base from which to set out on your exploration of the city and environs. Housed in a formerly abandoned horse stable which has been completely renovated, and featuring a charming courtyard garden bursting with flowers, this inn offers plenty of charm and comfort. There are seven rooms, each with its own distinct décor. The rooms on the topmost floor, under the roof, are particularly striking with their angled ceilings. The old stone and woodwork blend in perfectly with a vividly coloured Provence-inspired décor scheme. ... more   less
