We were there with my bf's work colleagues on a Monday in September. The atmosphere was pretty urban and cool, service was just ok, drinks were inconsistent and food was just ok.

I ordered a funky martini first, the drink was too sweet and not palatable. We were a group of 20 or so. All received their drinks promptly but I waited for 20 minutes for mine. I then tried a Pimm's which was quite good. One of the guys was from the UK and he remarked it was made well. I then went on to the Bloody Pickle (awful name!). The bartender brought it with a side of tomato juice as she remarked she may have put too much tobasco in it. I'm not sure why she just wouldn't have re-made it? It wasn't great but in all fairness I am more if a caesar girl.

The food we ordered consisted of a cheese plate with maple truffle oil. That was good but there was a lot of cheese and only a few pieces of bread. We also had a plate of wings that were ok and served with bbq sauce. I think a side of ranch or bleu cheese may have gone better. Then on to nachos which were simply ok. I am not a picky person yet this review sounds that way lol. Just wasn't great.

I visited the Philips lounge as part of a casual lunch between colleague in April, here's how the experience goes:

1- Location
It is located in the middle of downtown Montreal in Phillips square just between St. Catherine and Rene L'Evesque. Located directly on Place Phillips street it is a little bit secluded on a side that is not very frequented by pedestrians, which probably explains why the restaurant does not have an outdoors seating area. It is accessible on foot from every side of St. Catherine and is very close to major subway stations in the area.

2- The restaurant itself
It is a very trendy place, mainly obvious by the decoration that paints all its walls. It is a large indoor restaurant with a lot of space. You can sit comfortably everywhere around the restaurant and enjoy a really fine service.
It is not a very colorful place though as it is mainly black, white with some red paintings across the walls and tables

3- Service
Well it was really good. We were a party of 10 and they did a great job in keeping everything served on time and in full details as we have ordered everything without glitches. Waiters and waitresses are very nice and they always serve you with a smile. They introduced the menu in a really good way without us needing any further clarifications

4- Prices
It is adequately priced as for a $25 including tips you can get a really nice fulfilling lasagna, with a diet coke, just what you need for a lunch during business hours.

Phillips lounge is a nice place in downtown Montreal, but it is just a common place that you would find everywhere. It is just trendy and offers some nice a new experience in atmosphere. Nice place to visit once or twice

For a 40Th birthday surprise party. Were about 50 and had the place for us. We had a great time, the employees were efficient and friendly, the food was good (finger food through out the evening). Nice ambience. The DJ was good, but music just a bit loud.
