“Best Pub in the Neighbourhood”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Good pubs are hard to find in this part of Montreal. Some are restaurants only so you have to order food as well as a beer, others are a bit sketchy.

The Nextdoor is a good local pub. Small, friendly atmosphere, good mix of customers of all ages, friendly service. The menu isnt very extensive, but has the staples of pub food. Wings, burgers etc. Have screens for sport when the hockey games are on.

Prices are reasonable. Ever since we discovered this place, it has become our local for a beer. We no longer need to go to the Monkland Village, or downtown for a pint.

BTW they have a few outdoor seats, but these always seem to be taken by the smokers so can't really make use of them.

“The Pub Nextdoor”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

Unassuming, and very rewarding.

Spent a weekend nearby, and definitely made my way back to this bar two or three times. The servers are some of the most personable in Montreal. Decent prices. A couple tv's. Young crowd. What's not to like?

If you're free on a Sunday night, you might as well take advantage of their wing special - they're small, but tasty, and nothing to complain about at 29 cents. If you don't have to work Monday, their beer is also cheap after 10:00.

“So-so service, decent drinks & food”
Reviewed 1 June 2013

Hard to give a review out of five, since they jump from 'average' for 3 to 'very good' for 4 - this place falls somewhere between.

Not a bad place overall, but a few areas where they could improve. I find the cocktails pretty small for the prices, but otherwise things are pretty fair - good selection of beer. The food is good (hot & freshly prepared), but I would like to see a bit more diversity on their menu (a lot of battered fried things, which are definitely really tasty but doesn't really allow people to get a bunch of things and share because everyone would end up with similar dishes). My main sore spot is their service - it tends to be lacklustre and they seem to devote all their attention/enthusiasm to regulars. Every person I've brought to the pub has commented on it.

Good place to watch a game; be prepared for high volume when it fills up. Overall I'd recommend it (certainly the best option in the neighbourhood - it's the only real pub in Westmount) but would say it's not somewhere I'd spend more than an hour unless I was there with a big group.
