“Very Nice Boutique Style Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Hotel Ten is located on the corner of St. Laurent and Sherbrooke streets. As a result very centrally located between Old Montreal and the lively restaurant, trendy shopping area of St. Laurent street. Also a very short walk to Ste. Catherines street with more downtown shopping. The St. Laurent facing street rooms have been renovated while the Rue Clark rooms are newly constructed. If quiet is what you're looking for you need to request a room on the Clark side!
We found the staff to be excellent. Extremely pleasant, helpful, and always wearing a smile. Our air conditioning was not working in our room and they had maintenance promptly look at it. We ended up having to move rooms, a process which took less than 10 minutes from our first call to the front desk.
The rooms themselves are very spacious and well appointed with lots of space to move around or to sit at the desk. Internet connection and access was flawless and fast. The bed was very comfortable.
All in all an excellent stay at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Rue Clark…. Clark Street…. side are definitely quieter.

If you enjoy a very loud dance party in a seedy area, this place is for you. The hotel hosted a party last night that ended at 3:00 am. Our room was right over the party tent. When we complained of the very loud booming dance music that shook the room at midnight, we we're offered ear plugs and a bottle of whiskey. Many bums walking around. Much nicer hotels close by. Avoid this place unless you love to party and don't need sleep.

Dear StevoCyclist,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review on Tripadvisor. We sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations regarding your last stay with us. We have at the hotel a very vibrant Restaurant, Bar and lounge operation and sometimes noise can be an issue in the rooms located on that side of the hotel. Our team works very hard to manage guest expectations for those that enjoy the vibrant energy or those who prefer a quieter experience. Also I can assure you that we are located in a very safe area of Montréal and that we have a security team overnight. Once again we thank you very much for taking the time to leave a comment on Tripadvisor.
Do not hesitate to contact me directly if you would like to discuss furthermore.

Having read the online reviews , my wife and I were somewhat concerned about noise. However, we have to say that our stay was very comfortable and provided an excellent location from which to navigate the city. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed. We also liked the transportation service that the hotel provided. Overall, this stay was a win for us.

This was our first time to Montreal. Myself and 2 friends from LA and 1 from NY decided to spend our memorial day weekend in Montreal, more importantly at Hotel 10. This was the best vacation any of us have ever taken. The hotel was in a great location and offered great ideas on how to go see the city. The staff and service was phenomenal, staff was able to get you anything you wanted for recreational use, 2 bottles of Fireball brought to your room, no problem. The location was fantastic when you were walking back from the clubs and bars hammered. Close to the after hours club circus, close to downtown, Mont Royal, walking distance from anything you would want to do. My friends and I plan on spending every memorial day weekend at in Montreal, more importantly at Hotel 10. Thanks for the best time ever, the most epic of nights, and the most memorable scars that will last a lifetime. None of it would have been possible without Hotel 10!

Room Tip: Any one is a winner! Have a blast.

This modern decor, "boutique" hotel features king-sized beds with excellent bedding, form mattresses, and effective room climate control, as of summer 2014.

Pros: rooms feature firm, supple king-sized beds with high-end bedding. Black-out curtains shut out all light as well as significant street noise. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers. Standard rooms have opening windows, long work tables, a media / TV centre and reading lamps. The lobby is large, with couches for reading or coffee. The fitness room is well featured and quite pleasant for a hotel of this size. A courtesy car is available for (free) rides within 5km.

Cons: Hotel 10, formerly the Opus, needs to decide whether it is a club or a hotel. Guests on the first three floors on the St Laurent (east) side should be amply warned of noise from the club and terrasse, which goes well past 3am on weekends. Those seeking to sleep before ~3am should search elsewhere. When requesting a room change to avoid noise, staff were downright rude, with one front desk member rolling their eyes. In correspondence, the manager showed zero concern. The rooms themselves could do with a refresh and better cleaning, particularly carpets, fixtures (one lamp had a broken lampshade), the byzantine lighting systems and the bathrooms (which lacked counter space and had poor lighting).

I was staying at the hotel as an arts/culture journalist, and though I found the quality and professional bearing of *some* (but not all) of the front desk staff lacking, I would return, granted I would be able to secure a room on the west side on the 3rd floor or higher.

Room Tip: For weekend travellers, ensure to book on the west side, otherwise look elsewhere if you wish to sle...

Hotel 10 is located right off the main strip of St. Laurent in downtown Montreal. By staying in this hotel, we were minutes away, by foot, from a slew of yummy eateries, historical landmarks, and one that's both: Schwartz's deli.

When we first arrived, we realized our air conditioner wasn't working. The front desk staff was extremely nice about it. Unfortunately, the hotel was booked up and we weren't able to change rooms, but they sent up a large fan, which worked out perfectly. They offered to switch our room the next night, but we were so comfortable, we didn't even need to. We had to sleep with the window open, which did provide some unwanted noise.

Overall, great hotel.

This property has the potential to be a 5 star, recently renovated very modern decor, as previous comments rooms are clean- stayed in king room, very comfortable. Fixtures are low grade, carpet in room looks well worn already, bathroom has no counter space and lighting is very horrible(ladies make up application will be a challenge)
Hotel is located within walking distance of Old Montreal however if you want to cab down use EXTREME caution NO NOT ride in the cabs waiting across the hotel, we were charged $26 dollars for a ride into Old Montreal, found out later should only be about $10. Should you want to cab down from hotel to Old Montreal, take a left turn when existing the hotel and walk one block to St Denis-hail your cab from there and save your money (hotel offeres shuttle service, however only has one car). Staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Restaurant not opened for my visit. Noticed new bar opening soon, looks interesting. For those of you who like to go to bed early this hotel NOT for you- people roll in around 3:00 am and DO NOT care if you are sleeping.
