We stayed at the Heritage Victorian on October 18 and 19, 2013 so this review is very recent. . This hotel is located in the Latin Quarter near St Denis St and Ontario and is within walking distance to Downtown Montreal as well as restaurants, boutiques and pubs in the immediate area. We would call this hotel a "sleeper" suggesting that few may know and those of us that do would give it serious consideration for return visits. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is unique, stylish and warm. The breakfast is included in the price and offers a generous selection of delicious food. The room we had was called the Grand Victorian Suite and it was huge and very comfortable. The rates are very reasonable compared to other B&Bs with half of what the Heritage offers. We would highly recommend visiting the website and decide for yourself but I am looking forward to a return visit next year and beyond!

Room Tip: Go to the website and read the reviews. They speak for themselves.

I loved nearly everything about Victorian Heritage. Let's start with the accommodations. The common rooms were tasteful. It had beautiful chandeliers and furniture pieces everywhere. Our room (dormer room on 3d floor) while small, was cozy and romantic. The noise level from guests is non existent. We thought we were the only guests upon checking in on a Friday night. But in fact, the B&B was fully occupied and in fact we were next door to a couple with a young child!

We enjoyed sitting with the guests at the breakfast table. The guest were mostly American, but there were Japanese grandparents and a lovely Australian couple. We spent an extra 45 minutes each day simply chatting. And breakfast! Delicious! Breads, omlettes, croissants, fruit cups, coffee or tea, and a delicious fresh fruit juice of banana and plumb. Even soy or coconut milk was available which made my girlfriend quite happy!

The location is excellent. We walked everywhere - Old Montreal, Le Plateau, Mont Royal, St. Denis. The neighborhood can be described as a Tale of Two Cities. Calm and quiet during the morning. Quite "festive" with young people at night. Be warned, there may be the occasional homeless or drunk at night, but they were harmless. Also, if you've never been to the Latin Quarter before, especially if you arrive at night, don't be alarmed by the appearance (graffiti and dark alleys). It's perfectly safe.

I would stay here again if/when I were to return to Montreal. Merci Denis (the owner).

Room Tip: All the rooms were good. The pictures supplied by Denis are very accurate. I parked at the town li...

Well actually I needed an emergency dentist because I broke a tooth. Staff provided me with an appropriate name & contact address who fixed the problem. We would recommend this property to any traveller. An added bonus was the conversation with our fellow travellers at breakfast - far more interesting that a table for two in an 'international chain' hotel.

Room Tip: We were in the Henry Kavanagh room - but because of the double glazing and internal shutters I would...

Just getting around to writing reviews from my August vacation. We stayed here Aug 17-19 and booked the trip to Montreal as a surprise for my family visiting from Europe. First of all location is perfect easy walking to everywhere and not even a block to St Denis so plenty of options for evening dinner.. The building is a solid looking Victorian block and as soon as you walk in you are surprised by the beautiful wood panneling, stained glass windows etc.
We arrived late due to traffic in the city and were greeted by Denis who gave us a quick tour. We booked a Dormer room and a garden appartment so saw the place from top to bottom and all the rooms are great. The Dormer room had a great clawfoot tub and was cozy but not cramped... Big enough for my 6'3" companion.... My parents were booked into the garden apartment which has its own street entrance . This is a lovely well equipped room with two beds, large bathroom, laundry, sitting, dining and kitchen area.. As well as access to the garden - useful to get to the car , but even nicer for having a picnic lunch outside ...
Breakfast is wonderful - first of all the Dining room is beautiful and secondly the food is perfect - home made breads (such as chocolate apricot!) and jams , an egg dish and fresh fruit smoothies each day.. as well as the usual yogurt, cereals etc... a lovely spot to take a long comfortable breakfast before setting off for the day.. Will definitely stay here next time we are in Montreal.

Room Tip: If you have a few days , definitely recommend the garden appartment. It gives you some real living...

Well situated for the Quartier Latin, the Plateau and downtown. A unique Victorian building which has been sympathetically restored. Service a bit hit and miss. A couple of days towels were changed but beds not made up. Breakfast great if you stick to the cold offerings - hot food variable. Owner Denis doesn't show a great deal of interest in his guests but that's not the end of the world. Overall more pluses than minuses.

We were very happy with our choice to stay here with no complaints whatsoever. Having traveled by car, weekend parking was a breeze at the nearby Library and Archives of Quebec : underground, inexpensive, secure and less than a 5 minute walk. With the fabulous Saint Denis shops & restaurants just round the corner + within walking distance to either old Montreal, Schwartz's deli, the metro or McGill University, the location was perfect. Denis, our host is very passionate about the judge's old house and all the history within. We were pleasantly surprised with the authentic charm of the rooms. Breakfast was perfect, both in food and in atmosphere. Different items were featured each day, whether fresh croissants, cakes or authentic Montreal bagels along with freshly squeezed juice + all the usual fare. Topping it off was the great big oval dining table, fostering a very social interaction with the orther guests. WIFI was also a non-issue - strong & very fast. All in all, a terrific B&B, super location & highly recommended. Would eagerly stay again.

We stayed in this suite the beginning of September and loved it. It was a beautiful Victorian apartment on the second floor which included a sitting room, modern equipped kitchen, bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a washer and dryer. We had the experience of living in early Montreal but with modern conveniences. It was so nice to have the washer and dryer because the weather was very warm and humid and we were able to just throw our clothes in the washer after a long day of outdoor activities.
The location was perfect. 2 blocks from the central bus depot and central metro station. Within easy walking distance of old Montreal and downtown. It is actually in a busy area of the city but it was dead quiet at night. The walls of the building are about 1.5 feet thick, stone and brick.
We would definitely stay here again when in Montreal. I can't say enough good things about the place!!! The pictures on the website are exactly what you get!

Room Tip: We enjoyed having a suite. There are 4 suites to choose from We liked being on the second floor. It...
