“fair price for excellent hotel”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

I stayed here for one night, I was upgraded to a suite by chance. The suite was beautiful with a great kitchen fully equipped and spacious living room and 2 queen beds. I wished I was staying longer. The hotels location is great if you want to get out and go to the movies or go walk in the plaza. Easily walkable or a shuttle ride away. Oh yes, did I mention the free shuttle! I happened to be there on the 2nd Wednesday of the month where they offer a free light supper social event. They do this every Tuesday and Thursday apparently as well as every other Wednesday starting at 6:00pm. It was a lovely spread of canapes and cheeses, grapes, salads and fresh breads. What a great surprise it was and I didn't have to pay a cent! The breakfast was also included and it wasn't just the ordinary continental breakfasts most hotels serve. there was everything from english muffins with egg, sausage, waffles, hard boiled, scrambled, fresh fruit and parfaits, bagels, yogurts, danishes and the list goes on. The staff were very friendly and greeted you with a plateful of fresh cookies at the check in counter. The little extra touches like the free popcorn package in the room (which I devoured at 9:00pm) made my stay that much more enjoyable. The hotel was clean and inviting in its decor and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone regardless if its a one night or a multi night stay. Beds were comfy and pillows to die for and free wi-fi in the room. Very close to the airport (only a 25$ cab ride with tip).

Room Tip: i stayed in 3301, beautiful suite with a nice big balcony

We stayed there 2 nights from July 29-30/2014, 2 adults and 2 kids. Rosanna at the front desk is awesome, check-in was a breeze, room was very comfortable, free breakfast, free wifi and free parking were great. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we will be certainly booking this hotel on our next Montreal visit.

PROS: With the promotion of "stay 2 nights, the 3rd is half price," and booking back in April, my family had a junior suite with a well-stocked kitchenette, 2 tvs, windows that could actually open(!), a relatively quiet a/c unit, a dishwasher(!), and noise-proofed windows and walls that blocked out the noise of most airplanes (2 every 5 minutes overhead) and the neighbours. Very impressive! Plus I could do a small load of laundry for $2 a pop (dryer was also $2), there was a small indoor pool that wasn't too crowded, a large mall down the road, a movie theatre and lots of restos nearby... Breakfast is complimentary (go early or deal with the crowds and craziness of humans vying for available tables) and a couple times a week, there is a complimentary light supper (again craziness because it's free). Considering we had the choice of staying in downtown Montréal for $100 more a night, we saved a lot of money by going into Montréal after rush hour (hotel is close to highway), bringing in our own prepared food to picnic for lunch, going to the sights and returning back to the hotel, where we had the option to cook our own food or go out (we have kids, remember!). The free wifi never let us down either. CONS: we could hear the garbage truck at the hotel at 6:30 am and occasional plane fly overhead (but very entertaining for the kids to see the planes fly so close!). Breakfast was a mad rush to get seats and food before it ran out; one elevator out of 2 was working the day we left, which made for a long wait. If you get caught in rush hour, instead of a 15-25 minute drive to downtown, it becomes almost double the time. The hot and cold buffet gets redundant about the 3rd breakfast. OVERALL, I can recommend staying here if you have a car with kids and need to stay on a budget. The Marriot is clean, modern, and the staff are helpful.

Room Tip: Away from the elevators. The rooms seem noise-proofed but not the doors, so you can hear people in t...

The entire hotel appeared clean and fresh. The room was small but furnished nicely.
Restaurants and shops were all within a 5 minute or so walk.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Montreal International airport is less than a 10 minute drive, and downtown Montreal was about a 20-25 minute drive in off hours.

We have stayed at many Marriott hotels but this has to be the best. Right from the GM down the staff were really lovely and made us feel very welcome. We were in Montreal for the F1 and this hotel was really excellent value for money. We had a 1 bedroom suite which has the nicely equipped kitchen, and makes for a very comfortable stay, Spotlessly clean, very comfy bed, windows that open, and no noise from the planes. Free breakfast, we did not take it as we ate in our unit, also free BBQ meal on a Thursday evening which was very nice. We ate in the restaurant 1 night which was also very nice. We could not fault the place, the only things that let it down was no in room safe, and no make up mirror. The GM was very happy to give us her time to chat and that reflected down throughout all the staff we met, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Spend the little extra to have the convenience of a separate bedroom

This is our second stop of our Ottawa/Montreal trip over the Canada day weekend. We arrived at the hotel around 1 Pm, hoping to drop off the luggage for safekeeping before heading to Six flags La Ronde. Instead we got a room before checking time at 3. The front desk staff Rossana was very accommodating of getting us a room. However , she advised us that all the one bedroom rooms with balcony are all facing the highway. We went up and the room was very nice ( 2 TVs, regular size fridge, and tables ) and the double sliding doors that wrap around both living room and bedroom were able to block off 90% of the noise. We never sat out the balcony because it was too noisy and the 90 plus degree heat. The drive from the hotel to old montreal is approx 15 -20 mins without traffic.

The free breakfast and some weekday evening light dinner were good, and they used real plate and utensils. The dining room staff were also nice and friendly, no problem getting a seats because they work hard. Too bad some of the guests treated them like slave ( it's courteous bring your own plates to the station when you are done eating ).

The only issue was there was a bug in the shower on the day of check out, my wife just killed with a tissue. I did informed Rossana when I checking out and she told me it must be the heat and humidity the last few days. This is the 2nd time we stayed at a Residence Inn and I will avoid booking with Residence Inn brand or any hotel room with a kitchen in the future ( we had bugs issue with the Residence Inn Greenbelt Maryland 2 years ago ) , because kitchen attract bugs.

Room Tip: Avoid any rooms ended with 01 and 02, because they facing the highway.

We would like to thank all the stuff at the Residence Inn for an excellent stay. Special thanks to Rosanna at the front desk for accomodating our room change and making sure that our stay was enjoyable. The hotel is very clean, breakfast buffe has nice selection, and every stuff member has a smile on their face. Thank you again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the other side of the high way are more quiet.
