“Great find in Montreal”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

Beautiful little hotel on St. Denis street, where there are tons of restaurants and bars.

Room was very nice, modern and clean. Bathroom was beautiful with big glass shower. Bed was very comfortable.

Staff was excellent.

Highly recommend eating at the cafe below the hotel (owned by the same people). We got breakfast and it was delicious! Chocolate croissant was on par with the ones in Paris!

Room Tip: Call to book and ask for a room at the back of the hotel, or on an upper floor. We stayed in room 10...

This boutique hotel is located in downtown Montreal with a superb location, right next to a subway stay that is the intersection of 2 lines. It's a 10 minute walking distance to old Montreal. The exterior of the hotel is very beautiful and unique and the interior is modern with little decorations here and there that is very "French." We stayed for 2 nights and even though the room was a bit small, it was enough for the 2 of us. The manager was very helpful and gave us directions to a Canadiens hockey game the first night we were there. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to stay in downtown Montreal.

Le Relais Lyonnais was a fabulous spot to stay in Montreal. You are close to the downtown area (we walked - 15 minutes) to Old Montreal (also 15 minutes walking time) and steps away from everything Rue St. Denis has to offer (awesome restaurants/pubs etc. as well as a metro stop). The room was small, but perfect for us; clean, cozy and quiet after a long day walking around in the cold! We loved the quaint feeling of the hotel, and you really get a sense of Montreal by staying here rather than a chain hotel. The front desk staff were helpful and cheerful. We loved our stay and would return again.

My boyfriend and I traveled here for New Years eve. Although it took us a little while to locate this hotel on busy St. Denis street, but when we finally did we were not disappointed. This was the perfect location with us, a short walk or cab drive to the night clubs and big attractions. Also right down the road was Old Montreal, my favorite part :) At first we had to wait about 10 minutes for some one to help us when we arrived, I think because it is a family run business but the staff was friendly and helpful. An odd smell hits you in the lobby but dont let it throw you off, you will not smell it in the rooms at all and I think it just because it is an older building. The room was immaculate and cozy. We had a king suite on the first floor and even though I chose the king studio with the extra space for a couch on booking.com, we received this room which was more than enough for our needs for one night. It would have been nice to have a bigger room, its pretty small but the bathroom is huge and the shower head and water pressured saved my life on new years day! The bed was so cozy too, fluffy large pillows and comforter. Loved the Nespresso machine in the room, also saved my life after a long night out on the town. The room is modern and comfortable, we loved it, especially the bedside chocolate and no pressure to check out right on time. We would return here for the Montreal feel it had and for how convenient it was. And the shower, that was too good to be true I need one of those! We parked in the parking garage across the street behind the theater and it was perfectly safe like a normal garage, not sure why some say its dangerous. You are in a city, so be careful wherever you go. And it was only $15 over night as long as we were gone by noon the next day. A decent price for the area and we couldn't find where to park behind the hotel after driving around a while we gave up and hit the garage. We never had the time to try the breakfast but I heard it was great. Loved this hotel and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The ground floor was nice if you have bags, there's no elevator and it was quite even on new yea...

We stayed Christmas Eve and Christmas night. The hotel is great - clean and appeared to be recently renovated as everything was new and in great condition. The room is a bit larger than the bed, but not by alot. I agree with other reviews that it is conveniently located on St. Denis --- turns out that just about everything in Montreal is closed at Christmas however, including the restaurant downstairs. We would stay at the hotel again.

I stayed for 5 days in November. The service was excellent and the owners are friendly. Clean and well kept. I will definitly make it my favorite place to stay in Montreal. Just across the Ste-Denis theater…On St-Denis. A few feet form the Metro. Perfect!

Located on Rue St. Denis in Montreal's Latin Quarter this hotel is very conveniently located: You can walk to downtown (20') or the old town (10'). Berry UQAM Metro station is 200m away. The restaurant downstairs has a good selection of breakfasts and small meals. Their pastry is impressive! We got a lot of good tips form the friendly owner. The hotel is right across form the Theater St. Denis on a very busy street with many restaurants. If you want a quiet room ask! The rooms are well equipped, there is good internet via wifi and the bathrooms are very classy.

Room Tip: If you need a quit room ask for one! Some rooms face the street - not quiet (or keep the windows clo...
