“What a lovely place. Definitely a new go-to spot in Montreal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

Le Dauphin is one of the many boutique hotels I have visited in Montreal, and most certainly one of the best.

Everything was very neat, very tidy, and the staff were both friendly and helpful.
We ended up staying in a standard room on account of Montreal being completely booked that weekend, but even then, the room was extremely nice and well equipped.
Automatic blinds? Check.
Desktop computer in the room? Check
Comfortable bedding? Double check.

The location is also very convenient. Walking distance from Old Montreal and the port, and a very short cab ride anywhere else in the downtown area.
The continental breakfast was varied and satisfying, and most importantly: There's an espresso machine :)

All in all this is one of the better boutique hotels and we definitely had a wonderful experience there. Try it out! You won't regret it.

Room Tip: Even the standard room was splendid. No need to worry

I had a great stay in the Hotel Le Dauphin (Montreal Downtown) during a visit for a conference at the Congress Centre, which was only 2 minutes walk away. Quiet, modern, clean room, helpful staff and a good continental breakfast. Hard to find any faults. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel itself is very well suited and equipped for a business traveler or the tourists. The room we had was spacious, comfortable and clean. It is more than adequately and well furnished with two double beds, a desk, a table with a mirror, a coffee table, an armchair and a (noisy) fridge. Also provided were an ironing board, a computer, WiFi, a kettle with coffee, water bottles, etc. The bathroom was smallish but in a good condition and well equipped. The let down for the hotel is the uninviting reception area that looks more like a waiting area, with a wending machine like cabinet, rather than a hotel lobby.

It is conveniently located across the road from Montreal Convention Centre, approx. 400m away from a metro station and a similar distance from the Airport bus stop on Rene Levesque St. Although in the city centre, it is set in somewhat quiet corner of an office area in regards to restaurants and cafes, especially after hours. To get to the Old town and its restaurants one has to walk approximately a kilometer or more. The immediate area is not particularly appealing, with, at the time, a couple of active building sites and an abandoned housing block next door.

The breakfast was included, although basic by quality and choice, and same every morning, but we appreciated that it was available considering the offer in the area. It would not take much effort to improve it (especially the pastry that comes in large packets and the overcooked boiled eggs). The coffee, fruit salad and yogurt were all good.

There are many good things about this hotel. The service was outstanding -- friendly, helpful, really made us feel welcome. Everyone from front desk to breakfast room staff were great.

The location is very good about equidistant from the old port and St Catherine's area and we walked most everywhere. The garage worked well for us but it only has 6 spaces, and is small, so if your car is bigger than a mid-size you would have to park across the way at the convention center.

Breakfast, which is included, was very good with breads, muffins, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, and make your own esspresso.

The room was large for a city hotel (we had a room with 2 queens), a bit tight for 4 with children but objectively a reasonable size for the heart of downtown. It was super clean. Beds were very comfortable, noise was minimal. Bathroom was modern, working, plenty of hot water.

Elevator access to your floor is fast. To give a sense of the hotel, each floor has 8 rooms, all about the same shape so this is not a mega-hotel.

All in all a very fine place to stay that we would be happy to go back to.

The only cons were occasionally slow wifi and a refrigerator which was hard to open.

This was a great place to stay. The room accommodated three people comfortably. It was centrally located, convenient to parking, shopping, eating, and cultural events. Many of these were within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and willing to accommodate our requests.

Daughter was competing in Dance competition in Montreal. Hotel was close to venue and close to downtown Montreal. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. Continental breakfast only was a bit of a let down.

Stayed here for ten days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Very close to the congress centre so useful for conferences and the metro system (places des armes stop). Ten minute walk from the Rue Rene levesue so easy to get the 747 shuttle bus to the airport (ten dollars cash only coins) on the way back. Rooms very clean and staff very helpful with continental style breakfast, reasonable value for money. You can also wash your clothes for a dollar!

Great location between the old town and the many shopping opportunities on the rue saint catherine.. Thirty minute walk to the excellent main Beaux Art Museum on Sherbrooke Street.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the 9th floor, at the front, as I believe the views would be very good.
