We arrived Wednesday at 1:00pm. Room wasn't ready , so we dropped our bags and went on our way. Front Desk staff, very nice and professional.Rooms are very spacious and clean. Manager's reception is fun, find Mario, best employee of the hotel.
Our number one spot in Montreal.

I really can't recommend this hotel enough. Great service, a warm welcome eveytime you pass the front door. Huge, modern, well appointed room. In our case we had a full size fridge, micro, sink, etc. Beds so comfortable we couldn't extract ourselves from them. And the location is 3 blocks to Notre Dame. And, in our case, free hot breakfast for 4, and two free drinks per night, per adult at happy hour.

Really, this is a top notch hotel.

We are a family of four, stayed in the one bedroom suite for 2 nights; we had a very good experience with this hotel!
Great location: walking distance to the Old Montreal, Chinatown, convenient underground parking.
The suite: large and clean living room with a sofa bed, a TV, and a kitchenette; the bedroom had a very comfortable king-size bed and a TV,
Not a great view of a busy street, but we asked for a higher floor and were not bothered with a traffic noise.
The bathroom: modern and clean, with separate shower and whirlpool tub.
Complimentary breakfast and evening reception- each guest receives a coupon for 2 free drinks.
I would highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: ask to get a room facing a street, not the back of the hotel

The upside :

The hotel is in a prime location for old Montreal and the other entertainment areas. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They helped to arrange a number of complex reservations for our group. The rooms were large and comfortable, however there was a very limited selection of "English" TV programming available. As with all Embassy Suites free drinks during the evening was nice, and they have outside seating so you can people watch.

The downside :

The lobby was in pretty sad shape. It felts run down and tired. Between the check in and the first floor lounge the area feels crowded and in need of renovations. Due to the constraints there was capacity issues in the lobby and elevators when a large group checked in, causing significant delays to access the rooms.

The food quality during the morning buffet was relatively low quality. Also as space seems constrained the flow of the buffet is best described as anarchy. Its certainly much less than I would have expected for this brand and at this price point.

Overall, if the price point was a bit lower it would have rated a bit higher. Resolving the lobby issues would be a big plus for this property.

We're just home from a 5 night family trip to Montreal. We arrived at the hotel at 3pm (check in time) and our room wasn't ready. They said it would be at least an hour before our room was ready. We spoke to a manager, who offered us drinks at the bar while we waited. Everyone we dealt with was very nice and apologetic. We had a 2 bedroom suite, which was huge, and included a full kitchen. ( We wished that the second bedroom had 2 twin beds rather than one queen, so our son and daughter could have shared to the room. But, there's room in the living room on the couch to sleep.) We were told that the 2 bedroom suites are only on lower floors. Ours was on the third floor. We didn't realize it until we went to bed, but the street noise was extremely excessive to us, and we couldn't sleep. I will say, that we're sensitive to noise at night as we live in a very quiet area. In the morning, we went to the front desk and asked if there were any room configurations that might work for us on a higher floor. The woman at the desk was very helpful and nice, and took us up to see a room on the 5th floor. Unfortunately, the noise level was about the same. Ultimately, we decided we couldn't stay there, and switched to a hotel up the street. They must have much thicker windows, because there was no street noise. The staff at the Embassy Suites were all very nice, and tried to be helpful. If you're sensitive to noise, however, stay elsewhere. If you're not, this is a good choice. It's a great location.

Our family of four stayed at the Embassy for one night in July and the service at the front desk was amazing. We had a very large vehicle that we were quite concerned about parking in downtown Montreal, but they accommodated us. The room was large and very clean. It was great having a modern kitchen facility. The service from the staff was excellent. We enjoyed the happy hour refreshments and the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Yes, do try to get there before 8:00am for breakfast to have less of a crowd. It is close to the "Old Montreal” and near St Catherine’s Street areas, so you can enjoy the sites late and walk back quickly. This Hotel helped to make our Montreal trip very enjoyable and memorable. Our kids want to know when we can go back again! My wife and I are planning when we can come back to this hotel again.

I highly recommend this hotel for both Vacation and Business.

Room Tip: The best views would be street side and higher up.

We travel to Montreal frequently as our son is a student at McGill. We have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and Omni Mont Royal on Sherbrooke, and both have been fine, but we found the Embassy Suites has been a good choice as we can park the car, then walk to Old Montreal for the rest of the stay - the rooms have been fine - no view, but modern and clean, and the breakfast allows us to do things at our own pace - the made to order omelets, etc are very good - you just need to figure out the system.
