Located in a quaint neighborhood a 15 minute walk from the nearest subway station, don't miss this slice of Italy. Yes - the chalkboard menu is pretentious and a little annoying, especially with translation required from your waiter. But, mama mia, you won't be disappointed. The stuffed gnocchi starter was amazing. The lightest gnocchi I have ever tasted. My halibut entree was garnished with some amazing dried cherry tomatoes, luscious polenta, and a broccoli rabe side. We finished of course with the tiramisu dessert - a velvety smooth rendition with assertive coffee flavoring. Delicious. Don't pass up Cafe Viau Dante if traveling to Montreal.
