Although we had reservations, our group of six had to wait almost an hour before our table was ready. To be fair to the restaurant, the previous dinner guests were taking their sweet time enjoying their post dinner drinks. We would have waited at the bar, but it is very tiny and crowded, and the waiting area was not much bigger.
When we were finally seated, we enjoyed some of the best food Montreal had to offer. We started with the Milo's Special (a stack of paper thin zucchini and eggplant, lightly fried and served with tzaziki), charcoal broiled octopus, and the crab cakes. Of the 3, the broiled octopus was the best, flavorful and cooked to perfection, not chewy or rubbery at all. The crab cakes were good, filled with a generous portion of blue crab. The Special was perfectly fried, not soggy or oily at all.
For dinner, we had the lobster pasta, grilled halibut, and a whole fresh fish that you got to choose from the ice packed display and cooked to order.
The lobster pasta was very savory and tender. It was tossed in a tomato based cream sauce. The grilled halibut and fish was perfectly cooked in the Mediterranean style, with some olive oil, herbs and tomatoes. Simple and delicious.
There is a nice selection of wine to choose from and service is very good. The wait staff were all very cheerful and helpful.
Be prepare to possibly wait, but the food is definitely worth the wait.
