This was our 51st wedding anniversary and wanted to go tapas.
Our Toronto daughter had eaten here and had been impressed.
We were too.
Friendly,Alex and Arturo..suggested a wonderful wine and also to try 5 tapas..we were impressed also by the staff teamwork.
The restaurant is noisy but not intrusive surprisingly.
We particularily enjoyed the foie de veau and risotto,
Mussels,scallops and cod cakes.
There is decaf coffee ,..latte and capuccino.
We were almost overwhelmed by all staff friendliness..

Ate at Tapeo during the F1 weekend. The service was personal and attentive. We placed ourselves in the hands of the staff and they pulled together a selection of tapas for an evening of delight. The tilapia was incredible. All the seasoning was spot on and not the sometimes heavy handed oiliness lesser tapas restaurants rest their laurels on. Easily the best tapas we've had in North America. They also provided a wine pairing from a small Spanish vineyard (owned by a Swiss!) that was spectacular. They could not have done more to make this a more magical evening. Awesome!

Pros:
Food - all the classic tapas with a twist are on the menu and on the black board. Shrimps with garlic and the magret de canard were among our favorites. Fried calamari were good and hot when served. Portions to share are relatively small. The waitress suggested 6-8 tapas for our group of 4.

Atmosphere - we went on a tuesday night and it was very crowded but not too loud. 35-50's year old people mainly.

Service - very nice waitress who knew the menu very well. Had our plates changed between each services.

Cons:
Price - tapas to share were from 9 to 18$ (iberico pork).

Recommendation:
Definitely a must-try for tapas with a twist (when comparing to Spain) but beware big eaters!

I've been there twice and I haven't been disappointed. The prices are moderate so you can try quite a few dishes. I can honestly tell you that there wasn't a plate that I didn't enjoy. It was all very, very good. You really should share a bottle of Spanish wine with your meal as they have a good assortment. Service was great and attentive. The restaurant isn't overly big so the staff is fairly alert to the customers. Worth a drive to Villeray!
