My wife and I ate here one evening. The owner of the bed and breakfast at which we were staying told us he has recommended his lodgers wanting excellent French cuisine to Laloux for 13 years and has not had any complaint. We understand why.
We started with butternut squash soup and a charcuterie platter, entrees were a guinea fowl and smoked meat, Quebec cidre to drink, and dessert: a passionfruit sorbet and ice cidre. Every dish pleased all the senses - exciting combinations of flavors, textures, colors, and shapes beautifully arranged on each plate. I want to emphasize that each ingredient was fresh and high quality with powerful flavor, and the combinations of those ingredients on each plate were really impressive.
Our server was so attentive and interactive with us that we felt genuinely endebted to him for making the experience even better than it would have been based solely on the excellent food.
It goes without saying that the room, decor, furniture, and table items were all clean, well kept, and arranged well.
To top off the evening, the bill was not painful! Considering the quality of the experience, I was surprised the cost was under $50 per person.
We both look forward to the opportunity to eat there again. I recommend making a reservation.
