“Impressive architecture in Montreal.”
Reviewed 13 February 2010

Montreal is a city where there is an abundance of well preserved, architectural structures. One of the main reasons I like visiting Montreal so much, is there are so many inspiring buildings to photograph.

Regardless which season you visit Montreal the stunning architecture can't help but intrigue you.

“Europe without the Eight Hour Flight”
Reviewed 6 November 2009

We traveled to Montreal via Washington, Dulles (IAD) using some expiring frequent flier miles. Clearing through airport security at Dulles was a breeze, taking less than twenty minutes. My research indicated several interesting historic sites to visit during our stay in Montreal. Unfortunately, it appeared at Montreal was just recovering from an 18th century siege. Everywhere you turned, places were under construction. Streets and sidewalks were closed, the Place d"Armes, a memorial park across the street from the Notre-Dame Basilica, was totally demolished and surrounded by high fencing, the Hotel de ville de Montreal was shrouded in scaffolding and the Centre d'historie de Montreal open, but was undergoing a major refurbishment. Although this was rather disappointing, we still had a nice visit to the city of Montreal. However, going through security and US Customs at Montreal's Pierre Trudeau airport took almost one and a half hours.

“Montreal”
Reviewed 19 October 2009

Montreal is the perfect getaway! Old Montreal gives visitors a more historical and cultural experience. It has everything from great restaurants to a water front pier. Plenty of museums for a cultural experience in both Old Montreal and downtown. Downtown also has great shopping, restaurants, and bars/clubs. 4-5 days is plenty for a mini vacation and almost everything is close enough to walk to. Had an amazing time and didnt need to learn French!

“Montreal in November”
Reviewed 9 October 2009

Last November was cold in New England. But Montreal was freezing! My girlfriend and I spent almost a week up there staying at an Ethopian themed hotel, a B&B near the university, and a historic classy hotel near the Notre Dame Basilica - to get a nice variety of Montreal accomodations. We walked, drove, and took the metro to see the different museums, churches and bars. It was a great time, cold, but made being inside cozy and appreciated. We loved the Biodome, the nightlife, and the variety of restaurants the city had to offer. Old Montreal was pleasant to the eyes and the St Lawrence seemed to wrap the city with a seashore feel. Great place for lovers... but next time would have to be summer!

“MY favorite weekend get-away”
Reviewed 9 October 2009

Montreal has become my favorite weekend get-away for many reasons:

1) Only a 6-8 hour drive from NYC area
2) Beautiful city
3) EVERY restaurant has excellent food
4) Clean city
5) VERY family friendly
6) Hotels on average very good (Hyatt, St. Pauls, The W, etc.)

If you enjoy the outdoors, Montreal is the place for you. There is plenty to do including bike friendly streets. My family and I biked over 20 miles around the city and stopped along the way to visit various parks. A must do if you are in Montreal. There are several places to rent bikes around the city, you can even rent bike trailers for the toddlers. You can take a boat tour, horse and buggy tour around Old Montreal, Amphibibus tour, Plantarium and so much more.
