Owner description: A creative chocolate shop and an informative small chocolate museum where visitors can learn about the history of chocolate. The Chocolate Museum is free, self guided and displays more than 200 artifacts and objects related to chocolate history. All the displays now have their English version. Two video are presented (Artisan Chocolate Making and the Industrial Chocolate Making Process (French), from the cocoa tree to the chocolate bar). Watch the chocolatiers at work through a window while you try one of our 10 renowned hot chocolates. In the boutique, the chocolate lovers will find a great variety of classic and audacious handmade chocolates (try the Biquette, a chocolate with goat cheese and Bartlett pear puree!). Indulge yourself with one of our chocolate pastries (chocolate brownies, cookies, cupcakes and decadent chocolate cake) and during the summer, let yourself be tempted by one of the 69 homemade ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogourt and tofu offered! Érico is located in the Faubourg Saint-Jean Baptiste, a convivial part of the city, outside the touristic old walls, that is worth the visit.

“Yum!!”
Reviewed 14 November 2013

Went to the Chocolate shop/museum on our trip to Quebec and was not disappointed. I had read the reviews before going so I already knew it was not a big museum but rather an interesting display of chocolate themed artifacts and pieces of interest. The Chocolate selection is amazing and it was difficult to only;y choose a few. We went with the chocolate of the day which was a poached pear/ cheese - filled concoction and a raspberry filled dark chocolate. Difficult for a chocolate lover to not buy more =)

“Tasty and educational”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

It's not a big museum, but has a few small and interesting exhibits on chocolate. And you can't beat the price - free! The chocolate shop is good too. Everything is yummy and the price is about what you would expect from a fancy chocolate shop.

“Yummy”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

Not really a museum, but a nifty series of small exhibits on chocolate and its history. Fun for about 15 minutes. The real attraction here is the chocolate shop. Nice variety of excellent chocolates. They also sell ice cream with a fantastic chocolate dip!

“Go for the hand made chocolates!”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

The chocolates here are the most important reason to visit this shop/museum. Though they have delicious things for kids, don't miss the filled chocolates in flavors like dark chocolate with passion fruit and raspberry fondant and chestnut cream with rum and spices.
I very carefully hand carried some through 4 airports to bring them home and am so glad I can still taste Quebec after my vacation. I think any chocolate connoisseur would be thrilled to receive a box of chocolates from Erico!
