“Exceptional experience in Quebec”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

We were so lucky to have come across B&B Saint-Louis for our 4 day trip to Quebec City. It is located within the walls of Old Quebec on one of the main streets with a pleasant and manageable amount of daily foot traffic. The building was QC's first City Hall and is full of architectural character and charm. We had a nice size room (furnished with a bed, sitting chair, desk, and dresser) with an en suite bathroom. The only complaint was that there was a bit of an "old" musty smell in the room that was probably due to the age of the building.

The hosts were wonderful and welcoming. When we first arrived they had cookies and beverages for us and gave us a run down of the city. Having read several of the reviews before booking this B&B, we were excited to experience the infamous breakfasts-- what we were served managed to exceed our expectations. We ate crepes, eggs, fresh bread, yogurt, fruit, etc- every day was different.

I would highly recommend this B&B when visiting Quebec City. You really couldn't ask for a better location and accommodation for the price.

Within the walls of Old Quebec and steps to the Chateau Frontenac, this B&B is an experience of a time past, with its beautiful old architecture and airy rooms. Don't look for modern amenities, but don't let this keep you away, as the level of comfort is great. the hosts' welcome is warm and their homemade breakfasts are delicious. It is ideally located for exploring old Quebec, and I would recommend it for both singles and families. The only caveat: the stairs may be difficult to navigate for people with mobility problems. All in all, a great find that we will be revisiting.

Well located in the walled old Town, just few minutes walk to Chateau Frontenac, attractions and great dining. Comfortable rooms and warm welcome by hosts. Freshly prepared and totally homemade breakfasts - a great way to fuel up for the day. Hosts friendly and always there with tea and lovely morsels when returning tired from sightseeing. Helpful in their directions and providing information about sights. Couldn't have wanted for more in the B&B - the best I have stayed in after many years travelling and a pleasant memory for Quebec.

We had a very nice experience at the B&B Saint-Louis. The room was good and we had enough space for 3 people. The breakfast was amazing and almost everything was self made. I can just recommend this facility because it is directly in the center of old Quebec. It was amazing!!!

We spent a weekend at this hotel exploring Old Quebec. We did not have a car making this a great base location to explore the quaint town by foot. Breakfast was included and was a great value, it can become quite crowded so go early. The room was clean and offered basic amenities, we selected a room with exposed brick adding to the character. The staircase is quite steep making the trip to the room with luggage a workout. Overall this hotel is a great value and the location is fantastic for exploring Old Quebec.

Located within the city walls of Quebec City, this B&B is the best one for its value, location and service. A hearty welcome followed by a tasty (and different) breakfast everyday sets you up for a wonderful start every morning. The host and the hostess are humble and sweet. If you are driving they will also help you with parking. If you are patient enoufht the hostess will also teach you some French! The only negative was the bed, the wheels kept rolling making it hard to sleep. Will definitely go back to this place again.

The owners (madame Balti and Amil) made us feel at home. They went out of their way to accomodate us including picking us up at the airport in the wee hours of the morning (enquire with Amil for his taxi service). And the added touch of refreshments when we'd pop back into the hotel during the day. They were very helpful in sharing tourist tips and special events with us such as the free cirque de soleil show which allowed us to maek the most of our time in Quebec City. Highlights were the delightful homemade breakfast (differnet each morning!) such as jams, french crepes and other pastries, fresh juices in a delightful common room where we were able to meet other travellers. Rooms were spacious, bright and airy and felt like we were in Paris with the dance of the horses on cobblestone. Would've been bonus with a laundry and also be aware they may not check emails as often as desired, but overall, staying at this b'n'b made our trip so enjoyable and we would definitely come back to stay here next time we are in Quebec City.

Room Tip: If possible (and you don't like noises) try and get a room not on the street front as we experie...
