Booked the three hour zodiac whale watching trip. We were staying in Quebec City and chose to leave from Baie- Sainte- Catherine rather than Toudassac after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. The ferry and area around Toudassac sounded great but it would have taken about 45 minutes longer. We were worried about the time and drive since we were unfamiliar with the area. We rented a car rather than take the bus tour. Glad we did so we were free to do what we wanted both ways. You will have to pay to park when you reach the dock. It was an easy drive and easy to find. It took three hours to get there and was well worth the trip. The company provides waterproof outerwear but it was a calm day and we did not get wet. You will need long sleeves and a sweater underneath. It is cool on the water. There is a bathroom on the dock but the Zodiac is not a vessel with facilities. There is a souvenir shop with some snack food so don't plan on having a meal. Take something waterproof if you take a camera. We saw seals, Minke, Humpback and Baluga Whales. We did not get close enough for any good pictures. The guide's English was limited so we did not understand most of what he had to say. He was able to point out the different types and location. We had a great time and would highly recommend it. Personally I would not waste the time on a big boat unless you just want to cruise on the St. Lawrence. The Zodiac is fun and gets as close as possible to the whales. Good price for the experience. If you are staying in Quebec City, book the 10:00 even though you will have to leave around 6:00 AM. This gives you plenty of time to get there and you have plenty of time to see other attractions on the way back to Quebec City.

Just came back from the whale watching tour which included one night at Manoir Richelieu, an amazing hotel overlooking the St. Lawrence river. Excellent tour, a lot of information given by experienced guides, very good meals and service aboard. One must take into consideration that boats are not allowed to approach the whales from more than 300 meters. We did see some whales but they were far away. I would still highly recommend this tour.

Nice tour but much of the information provided was for their other tours and seemed like advertising for yet another tour to purchase.

We went on this cruise thinking we'd get to hear a lot about the history of the area and the St. Lawrence. The guide mainly repeated the same basic story we'd heard at several different tourist stops before. They took our picture before getting on the boat and then again while on the boat and kept trying to sell the photos to us for $10.

While we got some good pictures of the city from the water, it definitely wasn't worth the cost of the ride. Save your money and do a walking tour of the city instead.

We took a brunch cruise on AML on July 6th in Montreal, and have some good things to say about it! The cabin was very comfortable, lots of room and comfortable seats. The food was absolutely delicious, and it was available from about 45 minutes before we left port and all through the cruise. The service provided was professional and friendly, and completely bilingual. We had two seniors with us, with limited mobility. We requested to switch our seats at the last minute to avoid some stairs, and the switch was done immediately and effortlessly (with a smile!). We were very pleased with our trip and will definitely go on another cruise with AML! Bravo, job well done AML!
