It was raining on arrival and there was no one to help unload the luggage from the coach. We did it ourselves. The room was cold with no way to warm it and the pipes were noisy. The internet was a pain to connect without being charged and cut off after 24 hours. The room service was not to standard leaving no coffee or milk. Reception was just as bad, delivered milk and tea instead. But the classic of all was when they locked 7 of us out of our rooms saying they thought we had left. Then next morning had a slight problem getting breakfast which had been paid for in advance. Back in Australia checking the bank statement I found that they had hit the credit card for breakfast. Still sorting that out. I am not impressed.

Room Tip: Don't stay at theFairmont.

Could not possibly have been more happy with our room, the service, the decor the restaurants and our entire visit! Can't wait to return. The location is unsurpassed with all the romance one could ever wish for!

Hotel is old school elegance. Sits atop the cliff overlooking the St Lawrence. Go tot the wine and cheese bar in the back of the main floor for an exceptional view. Romance and music and big comfortable chairs with fine service. This is a can't miss.

Room Tip: the more $ you have the higher you go and the better the room.

There for 3 days & had a good time. Staff was very pleasant. Had a corner Room which was clean but the 1 window was very small. View would have been nice if window was bigger. Prom at hotel, kids a bit noisy especially after the dance.

Room Tip: Keep windows closed, noise from below can be a pain....

The hotel is absolutely beautiful from the outside. The lobby is classic and very impressive. The rooms and service are another issue. We booked four nights, two rooms, my family of four plus two in-laws. We checked out after one night. When we arrived the hotel entrance was swamped with teenagers ( about 150), apparently having their prom. We got no bell service, which made it difficult to navigate with kids and luggage. My in-laws got bell service only to wait and wait for their bags. After three calls to the room we finally had to walk down to the lobby to identify their bags. Then they were given attitude by the bellman. The 6th floor pool and outside deck close at 9pm and face some apartments with a bunch of twenty something dudes drinking beer and giving you the "stink eye". The room was hot, although the A/C ran all night with what sounded like someone swirling around a BB in a tin can. The room was tiny, with low water pressure, and one drawer plus two half drawers to put all your stuff. They have one liter Evian water bottles in the room for $8.50, $16 per day WiFi, just, basically, nicked and dimed the crap out of us. We, luckily, found a beautiful hotel down the hill in lower town that saved the trip. Maybe that's how the Fairmont Hotel chain rolls, all I know is that I will never stay in another one of their hotels again.

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel
