The public areas are nicely up dated and modernized. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms are so small as to be uncomfortable. What were they thinking in these days when bathrooms are larger in almost all hotels with upscale amenities. No place to put anything - barely room for one person- my husband could not sit on the toilet because his knee hit the shower. We would not stay here again though we have been here many times. Over priced for the rooms; over priced restaurants and poorly designed rooms.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! The Chateau Frontenac was recently renovated and it is absolutely beautiful. The staff was very accommodating. Dinner at the Champlain was delicious. The location in the old city is convenient to everything. There is also a Starbucks in the hotel! What more could you ask for?

Le Chateau Frontenac may well be one of the finest hotels my wife and I have stayed in. The facillity, staff and amenities were second to none. Our Anniversary trip was quite memorable. The staff was particularly gracious and accomodating. The rooms were modern and well-appointed but the hotel maintained its old world charm.

Even though this hotel is massive, we had our own concierge on our floor where breakfast, coffee and afternoon tea were served. We felt very well taken care of on every level. The rooms are large and beds are comfy with high end linens. The location is perfect. The bar is terrific - décor outstanding and the bartender made the best drinks. The food, at the very expensive restaurant in the hotel, was average. The setting defied the location and looked like a Vegas restaurant. The gym was dismal, and super small for such a large hotel. There is a pool but we did not use it. Our experience was fantastic in this beautiful city and we will return to this hotel.

What can one say about a storied, famous, classic hotel? It is expensive indeed. It is old. It is huge. It is not modern. All that is true. Yet it is without a doubt one of the finest hotels in North America. Here you are in the best location to enjoy Quebec City. All the good restaurants are nearly within walking distance. The view of the St. Lawrence River is spectacular. We arranged to stay on a club floor with access to the club where the offerings of food were the finest that I have ever had in any hotel. One could have a full breakfast in the morning, and in the evening one could have delicious appetizers and snacks. All gratis. Drinks were by honor bar. All in all a great atmosphere with great views to enjoy the late afternoon. Our room, albeit on the small side, was very satisfactory with a good view and a very comfortable bed. The staff were most helpful in arranging last minute dinner reservations and gave helpful tips on sightseeing. I have always wanted to stay at this hotel, and my visit did not disappoint.

Room Tip: Try to get a club room. The extras you receive are well worth any extra cost.

The hotel experience, surrounding and overall is simply great. I would say if visiting Quebec City stay here. The best hotel stay in our 8 days of eastern Canada trip.

Be careful when you check-in. The reception may assign you a wrong room. I would have given rating 5 for service and rooms, but did not because of a common experience in a uncommon hotel. The first room had a non-working AC -unit was throwing out hot air. The bellman got our luggage to room called the reception from our room and spoke in french to someone. After waiting for few minutes I called again to realize they are not aware of the problem. However immediately shifted us to a cooler room. Later I got a bill for the call the bellman had placed. Since I do not know french, not sure if that guy called his friend to say hello on my money.

Room Tip: Make sure not to get the rooms on top most floor directly under roof.

I recently ran an industry conference at Le Chateau Frontenac in August 2014. The property is as stunning as the photos. Many rooms are renovated to a modern European decor, or you may wish to have a larger suite that may not be renovated and still has some very old cool finishes...which ever you prefer, there are many, many styles of rooms and price points available, just ask.

Our conference co-coordinator M. Jean Prince did a wonderful job and we had no glitches despite using about 6-8 different venues in the hotel. The hotel food and coffee service were excellent. The buffet breakfast simply should not be missed. The chamber maid service, the front desk staff, the bellhops and the wait staff are all highly trained, friendly and there to make your stay comfortable...hats off!

The location is simply the best. You are at the immediate top of the old lower town and very close to Rue St. Jean / St. Louis as well. There is a Starbucks attached as well, too bad there is not a Tim Horton's or Second cup, more patriotic!

Grab a burger at Le Chic Shack just down the hill past the tour buses, simply delicious burgers and poutin. The lower town is simply amazing. There are many great restaurants, do not forget to walk west in the lower town for many chic, more nouveau spots...the pizza at Piazetta was incredible. Panache at Auberge St. Antoine was also a culinary treat and the Artifact Lounge tour is worth doing...the property sits on a site where the ancestors, lived, worked and fought hundreds of years ago and there are many amazing artifacts displayed throughout this amazing property. I also loved the Citadelle, one of the coolest (and largest) military forts you can still tour and it is an active base.

I highly recommend Le Chateau Frontenac for a romantic getaway or your next event...wedding guests we ran into frequently were also very happy.

A bientot!
