Check in was easy and the staff spoke English which was helpful. We were given our room key along with information and maps of the city.

I was in the older side of the hotel but you would not know it was old. The room was very simple and cozy but spacious. The bed, pillows and linens were extremely comfortable.

The bathroom was a very nice size too with a rain shower head. I was not so impressed with the shower. The water pressure was low and there was no door to the shower itself so it could be cold. There was also a nice bathtub which was very nice after a cold day walking in Quebec. Aveda toiletaries. The towels could probably do with an update as with the robe which I did not use.

Breakfast was a selection of pastry, toast, cheese (amazing cheese), pate, fruit salad, coffee, tea, juice. Everything you need to get going in the morning. The seating for breakfast was a little odd. There was one breakfast table which always seemed to inhabit a snooty nosed lady, perhaps the owner as she did walk around like she owned the place. You could sit by the fire or in an armchair by the windows though which was nice.

Very nice gym in the basement too with bottled water after your workout.

I found the hotel to be in a central place to explore the city by foot.

Overall a wonderful stay at this hotel. I would recommend it if staying in Quebec!

My wife and I had a reat room overlooking the river. The staff were charming and a great help with suggestions on places to see and where to eat. I loved the coffee machine in lobby, the informal buffet breakfast and the relaxing fireplace where you could sip a glass of wine (not necessarily at breakfast though).
I'd go back again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Hotel Dominion 1912 for 3 nights in September. We stayed on the 6th floor with a view of the city walls...very romantic. However, the room was not the luxurious oasis I had imagined, as the carpet was a little worn in places and the lighting a little dark. With the exception of a cool sink, the bathroom was average. The room contained a king size bed, a chair, minibar, and an excellent work space for the business traveler. One plus was the extremely comfortable bed. The breakfast was good, but the breakfast room crowded and the ever poplular espresso machine was sometimes difficult to access and prone to clogging. However, we stayed at a hotel in Montreal with the same problems,so perhaps that's just the reality of a breakfast buffet.

The best part of the Hotel Dominion was the excellent and ever helpful staff!

I paid about $290. If I go to Quebec City again, I would research some other options for variety. So although I'm not in love with the Hotel, I would feel comfortable in recommending it to someone else.

The Hotel Dominion is well located in the area of the Old Port. Our homely room and bathroom were adequate in size, although rather dark and industrial in design. Our room #602 over looked the river and was fairly quiet, although, as dawn approached, certain muffled internal hotel sounds gurgled forth and ambient street sounds could be discerned. The bed was very comfortable and the bath linens were fluffy and fresh.

The entire staff was very courteous and helpful. The public area is comfortable and casual with one computer available to guests. Breakfasts are fine for one (me) who likes fresh fruit, yoghurt and strong coffee. Parking was conveniently just outside the back door.

FYI - we enjoyed an interesting dinner at Toast, within easy walking distance fro the hotel.

A delightful spot with great service including complimentary cappuccino and a wonderful breakfast. The location is excellent, near great restaurants and shopping.
