Owner description: This cable-car ride connects the Terrasse Dufferin with Lower Town for those not up for the steep stairway.

Wanted to ride this at least once from Old City to Upper area just to see what it's like. If you can get past the tourist souvenirs, an okay experience if you don't mind parting with $2.50. It's like being in a glass elevator; not so good if you're clausiphobic, but a heckuva lot easier than trudging up that hill.

Going up from the Petit Champlain area up to the Terrasse Dufferin , there are 2 ways to do so.
1. The Jane Fonda Workout special: You have to go up a very steep hill and then finish off with even steeper stairs
2. The easy and effortless way: Pay $2.25 and be shoved in a glass cage only to be sent up in no time.

I said shoved in a cage because that is what hey really do. They try to put as many people as possible in this glass cabin and send you up to the Terrasse for more sight seeing of the Quebec City. The cabin is not bigger than a regular elevator cabin and on a hot day, it is almost unbearable. I still give it 5 stars just because it is very convenient.

If you are into amusement parks....you might consider the funicular one of family friendly rides- seemless, steep yet not so swift. Compared to another big city funicular in Hongkong- this is a kiddie ride but fun nonetheless.

The view is not that great, but it is a very affordable way to get in front of the hotel "Chateaux" and get closer to the Citadel.

With a Little souvenir shop as it's entrance and Afro a minimal fee you can take a quick trip in a glass enclosed vehicle that takes you to the top of the wall of the city. The ride was only $2 Cnd. And took maybe 2 minutes. There are two cars running all the time so you don't have to wait long for your lift.

Much easier than climbing countless stairs to the top. Be warned though, the wheelchair accessibility in Old Quebec is limited and the cobblestone walkways can be treacherous.
