“A different feel...”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Loved the funicular to get there. Fun walking around the area. Took a boat trip on the St. Lawrence.

“Step back in history”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

Walking down the narrow street you can feel the history surround you. There is a feeling of stepping back and sensing the early history of nouvelle francais.

“Every bit a must see in Quebec City”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

Everybody wants to have a view from above, but sometimes the view from below is just as enchanting. Lower Quebec City falls into this category. The European charm of the lower city is evidenced in the street layout and the architecture of this beautiful portion of the city. The Funicular joins lower and upper city for a seamless visit.

“Way too crowded on weekend days”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We may not have the correct impression, as we were there only on a Saturday and Sunday. It was wall to wall people, jostling each other. I could only watch my feet to make sure I would not trip over the uneven walking surfaces or watch for backpacks smacking me in the face. There were some sort of performers in period costumes but it was not understandable to us, as all in French. It is not friendly for the mobility impaired as even the entrance to the funicular has uneven steps. I have no idea how people on scooters or in wheelchairs would access. We walked a couple blocks off of the main square and enjoyed the quiet there and went to the ?Museum of Civilization which we did enjoy. Rode the funicular up the hill. We preferred the upper part of the old city with the monuments, views and green spaces.

“Accessible and Beautiful”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Easy to access the St. Lawrence River, and the many quaint streets full of restaurants and shops. There is a funicular which is a cheap and easy way to access the Upper Town and save your legs and energy
