“A delight”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

We needed to stock up on provisions for our stay at an AirBnB apartment. We found the selection delicious with wonderful organic and homemade choices of goods. We stocked up on a pile of goodies and checked out with the friendly teller.

We did not find paper towels, toilet paper, or baby foods, but other than that it was great. For some reason their wine selection was a little on the light side.

“a must see”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

French culture at it's best, this shop was wonderful. Besides the deli, they carry all these different beers. They have an amazing selection of salts, olive oil, vinegars and anything else exotic you can think of. Besides the beer, we picked up duck fat, which is hard to find in Ottawa. If you want to take home some rabbit or duck confit, as well as a wide selection of other meats, this is the place. And did I mention chocolate? Yup, all different kinds. It made me wish we'd visited in the summer so we could have a picnic outside. This is a must for foodies. It's a short walk just outside the walls.

“Like Walking Back in Time”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

Oldest grocery store in North America- 'nuff said.

It is quaint, cute, and sells adorable knick knack things. Cheeses, mustard spreads, jelly/jam, wine/beer, chocolates, maple syrup, etc. Are things a tad bit overpriced?? Yes, but you are walking in a piece of history so buy 1 little thing just to say you did and keep it moving.

“Great Visit....Vast Selection of Cheese and Beer!”
Reviewed 31 December 2013

Looking for a unique food item to bring home? This is the place to go...a step back in time with an outstanding selection of many unique items ranging from cheese, to olive oil to chocolate to beer.

We must have browsed for over 45 minutes and this place isn’t very large but with so many things to look at you find yourself dazed….taking it all in. My children (7 and 9) both enjoyed the visit and each found something fun to buy.

Do not go here on an empty stomach….you’ll end up leaving your wallet behind!

“Great breakfast spot.”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

This was a great spot for us to grab breakfast while we were in Quebec City for a conference. They had a good selection of fruit and other items to grab for later in the day too. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for reading the paper in the morning with a cup of tea.
