Too far to walk with toddlers to Vieux Quebec but at least 15 minutes walk to get there with older kids. Area is surrounded by good restaurants like Saigon-Bangkok, Anh-Le, and lots of pubs and restaurants nearby like Yuzu. Boîte a Pain is also nearby but disappointed with their croissant and sour dough bread. Beds are comfortable, room a bit small, not too noisy, staff very friendly and helpful, pool and hottub are ok (a bit strong in chlorine smell and need windows!). Also kids love library in front of hotel, they have distractions there for kids. No playgrounds nearby though.

Bonjour!

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments concerning your recent stay with us at the Best Western Plus City Center Quebec. Our sector, the Nouvo St-Roch, is a new tourist destination born in dynamic sector of the capital, on the sidelines of Old Quebec. The design of this commercial artery allows visitors to discover a pleasant and innovative real life environment. Since 2000, 380 million dollars have been invested in this neighborhood to renovate and rebuild most of the buildings of the Rue Saint-Joseph. Since 2008 our sector is part of a 5.3 km walking trail that leads from the Grande Allée East in the Upper Town of Quebec, Old-Port in the Lower Town, passing through some of the most picturesque streets and squares of Old Quebec. Close to the hotel, near to the Saint-Charles River, there is a small playground for kids, pathway for bikes ans roller blades. The Public Library located across the street offers activity for them too. It was a true pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope you will visit us again the next time you are in Quebec City. We look forward to it.

We booked a standard room which was tiny but were upgraded after another guest had left their barking dog alone next door late at night. Unfortunately we had to move everything to the new room. However, the upgraded room was much nicer. We would have preferred being closer to Vieux Quebec and will choose another hotel next time.

This is a very good hotel, but do not mistake me, it is imperfect. It is a trek into downtown from here, but is in a good area. The restaurant is excellent and not unreasonably priced. The rooms are luxurious for people who don't stay in actual luxury hotels, so expect well accompanied rooms and a few touches of class like valet parking and a generally very comfortable, modern feel. An enjoyable stay awaits you here.

Bonjour,

Thank you for your comments concerning your stay at the Best Western City Centre Quebec. I appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with Tripadvisor readers. In fact, we are located downtown Quebec City, in the Nouvo St-Roch district to be more precise. Nouvo St-Roch is a new tourist destination, born in dynamic sector of the capital, on the sidelines of Old Quebec. According to Google Maps, there is actually 1.2 km (0.75 miles) that separates our property from the entrance of the Old City which is approximately 15 minutes by walk. The multiple activities, such as excellent restaurants, boutiques and local coffee shops provide our guest an incredible experience, only couple blocks away from the Old Quebec City! Moreover, the Old Quebec City is he most touristic section of the city and offers a lot to do and see! We considers as a mid-scale property; we offer 3 room categories that all offer the same level of quality and cleanliness and offers standard high quality Essentia natural memory foam mattresses, mp3/ipod compatible radio-clock, synthetic duvet comforter to name only a few. However, Business Class and Executive categories offer you that little plus most of people are looking for! When staying in a business class room, you are guaranteed to be on a higher floor and be provided with a mini-fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, bathrobes and deluxe amenities as well. If you are looking for more luxury, an Executive room is for you. These rooms are located in a private section of the hotel and offer the same benefits as the Business Class but the main advantage is the exclusive extra-large deluxe glass shower with rain shower head. It is a must! Again, thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It was a true pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope you will visit us again the next time you are in Quebec City. We look forward to it!

We booked a stay here off Hotwire for our honeymoon in Quebec, and were not disappointed. Staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, including a free room upgrade and chocolates and a nice card from staff left on the bed. They were always willing to help out with things like calling us a cab, and this kindness did not go unappreciated.

The room itself was clean, modern and comfortable with a Keurig in the room. The hotel is in what seems like an up-and-coming area of Quebec, and is not too far of a walk to Old Quebec, but it was all uphill. Generally, we took a cab to Old Quebec and then walked home at the end of the night. Close by is a nice park, and a MEC store. Hotel is very close to public transit access.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend the hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Try to get a little higher up for better views of the city

Location is a bit off the beaten path with a 20 min walk up to the main (old) city up 97 steps and then several steep streets. There is an elevator there but primarily open during business hours. There are some nice restaurants near the hotel however. Hotel itself is mid-level of its kind -- smell of chlorine in the lobby. Rooms are nice. Views from high floors out to mountains.

Your feedback is very much appreciated and I can assure you that my staff and I use this information to do everything possible to create an enjoyable experience for each of our guests. It is true the Old City is a uphill walk away but here is a tip: There is a free elevator at the end of de la Couronne Street during business hour so you do not tire yourself climbing the hill. However, taxis and public transportations are always great options to access the old city easily! As you mentioned, Quebec city is full of unique restaurant, boutiques, coffee shops that definitively worth to be discovered. We highly encourage our guests to walk and explore the hidden treasures of our beautiful city! We booked a standard room, but were given a free upgrade to a nice room on the 5th floor which was clean, spacious and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in Lower Town, and the old city is a 15 minute walk away. Close to the hotel is a big MEC outdoor store (which appears to be the Canadian REI), drugstores, coffee shops and restaurants. We didn't use the $24 valet parking - I asked about alternatives at the front desk and was directed to a secure lot a few blocks away, for $10 per day. My husband visited the pool, but didn't swim because it was small and packed with kids. This was our first trip to Quebec City, and I'm eager to return. I'd happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with natural light, as we did. Many rooms only have windows to an interior courtya...

I booked my hotel stay through Hot Wire, so was not sure what hotel I'd be staying at until I booked. The price was very reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a good area, yet a bit of a walk to get to the old city. It wasn't too far, but uphill. First few days we walked, but we took a cab a couple times out of laziness and it was under 10$ so worth it :)
To stay in Old Quebec would be really expensive, so I think this was a good option if you are on a bit of a budget. Parking was a bit expensive, but I knew that going in (it was a valet service). I didn't eat at the Best Western restaurant because there were so many amazing restaurants around the city I had to try. Room was very clean and bed was really comfortable. Our room looked over the restaurant which was kind of weird. We kept our curtains closed because it didn't feel very private. I think the room was 212.
Overall, a good experience! I would stay here again.
