My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon (5 days). We reserved a cocooning room ($200/night) but when we got there, they upgraded us to a suite for the same price! The suite was incredible. Large room, King bed, huge ultrabain therapeutic tub in the corner of the room, french doors to the bathroom with double sinks. Nice view of the garden. It's about a 10-15 min drive to the downtown action, but it was worth it to stay a little outside of the busy-ness. Hotel was beautiful, very clean, and accomodating. Only complaint was the restaurant left a little to be desired -we ate their our last night. But, I'd stay there again and just eat out the whole time! Great hotel, especially for a honeymoon.

There are a few awkward moments, in this renovated hotel. I stayed in a nicely renovated suite and dined in their great restaurant. Next time I go to Quebec I will surely stay there. Truly 5 stars.

My wife and I stayed at Chateau Bonne Entente September 28 to October 1/06. Our stay there was for business purposes to attend a conference at the hotel.

This hotel resort is outstanding. It is nestled in a quiet suburb of Saint-Foy about 20 minutes from the Old City of Quebec. The grounds are beautiful especially in the fall with plenty of mature and colourful trees, small pond with a waterfall and nice courtyard containing a pool, plenty of decking and a summer grill. The resort itself is a two storey townhouse type of structure set up in a circle with two wings. Rooms vary in size from a standard hotel type room containing a double or queen size bed, bathroom and large sitting area to one bedroom suites that surpass most hotels in size and comfort. Everything is first class in the room with ample closets, full amenities and a bright large bathroom with oversized tub and waterfall showerhead. Very nice touch! The bed could of been a bit larger for two people.

The Monte Cristo Resto Lounge and Dinning Restaurant is elegant, however very expensive. Food quality is above average and the bar area is relaxing. Staff go on and above to call of duty to help you and there was no communication problems. All staff spoke very good english which was appreciated as our French was poor at the least. This is a nice touch considering very little effort is made to speak French in most Canadian Provinces for Quebec travellers.

My only complaint about the room was the fact that there is a coffee maker, however, you must purchase the packets of coffee at $3.25 each to make it. Considering the class of this hotel, this should be complimentary. Much cheaper hotels offer this service free of charge. In room items such as alcohol and snacks were priced way above average. There is a nice coffee shop right next door within walking distance that serves gourment coffee and light meals at a normal price.

This hotel is a pretty good distance from the Old City of Quebec. Although they offer a shuttle van (6 passengers) the times are very inconvenient and the van is almost always booked. You are able to get public transit (bus number 7) right at the entrance that takes you right into the old city. Depending on the time of day it takes 20 minutes to half an hour. You will need exact change ($2.50). The buses are all new and comfortable. We found the drivers very courteous and helpful. Parking in the old city is nightmare if you drive yourself.

All in all this is a 5 star class resort, voted as one out of 3 top small hotels in Canada on a world wide basis.

This resorts caters to business groups and can accomodate families, although it is off the beaten track.

My husband and I travelled to Sainte Foy during a 5 day trip to Quebec (2 nights in Vieux Quebec, and 2 in Sainte Foy). We found the Chateau Bonne Entente while browsing online and were enticed by their packaged promotion of 2 nights including buffet breakfast and dinner for two. We were quite glad that we found this little gem (which we later found out was rated as one of the top hotels in the world in a hotels and resorts magazine we encountered during our visit to the province).

Although the hotel is quite secluded, there was a shuttle service into old Quebec City (we opted to take a taxi, which was about $10-$15 Canadian). It is also a quick trip to the Aquarium (which, in retrospect, was not worth our while; considering it's extremely small size in comparison to the Toronto Zoo), other entertainment venues, and the main mega-mall.

The Monte Cristo restaurant was okay (food and service were above average), but did not compare to the Paris Brest in Vieux Quebec. The menu was a little expensive for dinner, but we didn't mind since it was included in our package. We opted to take a cab to Vieux Quebec the second night to eat at the Paris Brest instead.

The pool was clean and a decent size for maybe a dozen swimmers. The hot tub and sauna facilities were also impressive.

The bedroom was exquisite, complete with Egyptian cotton linens and an Italian style bedroom set (comfort at its finest, if you don't mind a stiffer mattress). The room was quite comfortable, and we were not at all disturbed by any external noises.

The bathroom was nicely designed, including a wonderful enclosed shower. The shower had a rainfall option as well as multiple massage jets coming from every which angle. The hotel also provided wonderfully scented shampoo, conditioner, and lotion from Fruits & Passion (unfortunately, the shampoo/conditioner combo is now discontinued in the stores, so we can't buy it outside of the hotel).

Service was good and everyone was quite friendly. The gift shop; however, shouldn't really be called a gift shop as it's about the size of a walk-in closet, and sells only the very basic travel items (the hotel does carry a catalogue from which you can actually order the entire contents of your hotel room for delivery to your home; furnishings and paints also).

A great hotel, especially if you want quick access to Old Quebec, but want to get away from the hustle & bustle.

We stayed at the Chateau from August 14th to 19th, 2005. Being on our honeymoon, we were a little anxious that everything go well, but we couldn't have asked for better. The staff was courteous, helpful and pleasant (and completely bilingual, which was unexpected but appreciated). Our Distinctive room was beautiful and the whole resort was sparkling. The hotel had a shuttle service into Old Quebec City each day but was only a 15 minute drive away. We spent much of our time alternativing between the pool, the huge outdoor hot tub and the smaller hot tub on the second floor. Dinner at Monte Cristo was fabulous (though expensive - worth it for the quality however). Amerispa is the nicest spa either of us has ever been to and their staff were excellent as well. Overall, an absolutely wonderful experience and we can't reccommend it enough!

It seems that all of Quebec is under construction...
Problems began the minute we arrived. The room we reserved was not available, or better yet, we could not get the lake room because THEY HAD NO LAKE!! They stuck us in a cheap room for the price we payed for the better room! All the way in the back of the hotel, then they offered a "better room" for almost $100 more a night!
We were woken up both nights by the construction noise in our $250 a night room. The only thing good was the bathtub and the recommended restaurants by the concierge. (Note that she didn't mention their own restaurant, and we didn't want to be in there any longer than we had to.)
The whole stay was very disappointing, and we were glad to move on to Mont Tremblant.
