Hotel Le Bonne Entente is not in the core and a bit of a distance from Vieux Quebec, however it is close to the major highways and was chosen because of its resort type atmosphere and 5-star rating. It lives up to that billing.

We were looking for a place which provided nice amenities onsite as well as an outdoor pool. The atmosphere was great and the service was top drawer.

Room: Our room was a good size with very comfortable bed and a variety of pillows. The hard wood floor was a nice touch and the rustic style bathtub was great. Lots of outlets to handle your devices.

Restaurant: We only dined at Napa, their California style restaurant for lunch, but the food was excellent and came with bread and balsamic along with fresh fruit for dessert. Wait staff were excellent and engaged with us.

Pool and Spa: There was a nice sitting area around the pool and the design fit the surroundings. The spa was a treat and was meandering, which allowed for couples to sit together and have a little privacy.

Staff: The staff were amazing and worthy of the high rating the hotel gets. They were always willing to go out of their way to take care of their guests.

Extras: My wife took advantage of Amerispa on site and had a really good experience. I took advantage of a golf deal at La Tempete, a private course in the area which has hosted CPGA events as well as a skins game. For 125$, you get a shared cart, the round, and unlimited range balls; an excellent deal. The course was in fantastic shape given the drought like conditions in the North East this summer. The staff arranged both events in advance of our coming. One other really good feature is a shuttle service which takes you to Vieux Quebec. For 7$ return (do please tip the driver), this is a great deal ($30+ cab ride back late night).

I was extremely pleased with my experience at Le Bonne Entente, highly recommend staying there, and I will most definitely stay there again when I go back to Quebec.

Great place to stay and the service is 5 diamond. The facilities including the pool area are amazing, very inviting and relaxing. We spent 4 days in QC and has a great time. In close proximity to Village Val Cartier and old Quebec City approximately 25 minutes from the hotel in different directions. The only thing they need to improve upon is the lack of waiter and bar tender experience. Very junior and still learning the ropes which is fine but not in a 5 start hotel or restaurant. The bar tenders were looking at a training manual to get basic drinks. We also had dinner at Napa's and the food was not very good at all. The cornish hen and vegetables were burnt as they cooked them on extreme outdoor bbq heat which seared them and both the t-bone and filet mignon steak were under cooked. A professional chef would know the difference between medium and medium rare. Not the best food considering it cost over $400 including a $90.00 bottle of wine with no dessert. They also didn't have Caymus so they brought out another wine that didn't live up to expectation. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood off the highway. A bit weird place to have such a beautiful hotel. Hotel 5 stars, Food not so much.

Le Bonne Entente is currently the only 5-star hotel in the Quebec City area - but room rates are surprisingly affordable - definitely a good value. My favorite part was the beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub. There is even poolside service available for food and drinks. The hotel is actually in Sainte-Foy, a 10 minute drive into Old Quebec. The hotel offers a shuttle to Old Quebec, $7.00 round trip. There is also a full service spa on the premises,as well as 2 or 3 restaurants. Lunch by the pool was delicious, but we found the other restaurants to have limited and rather expensive menus. Our dinner bill for two was $180.00 and the food was okay, not spectacular by any measure.

Room tip: Many options - watch out for "italian" mattresses - hard as rocks

We stayed in Quebec City for one night as we made our way out East and have no regrets in staying at Chateau Bonne Entente. The room was updated, beautiful and comfortable. The washroom was beautiful, at first glance it looked like a spa. The shower left us bewildered though... there were many shower heads and it took us quite a while to figure it out plus the shower isn't that big. Water leaked onto the floor (due to us now knowing what we were doing) and upon wiping up the water we noticed that we weren't the first to have this problem as the wood below the sink was quite water damaged.
We did enjoy our stay and the comfort of the furnishings. We had a great night of sleep.

Le Bonne Entente is a wonderful, relaxing hotel just outside Quebec City with easy access to all major attractions. The room was modern and clean with nice amenities and the staff, from the front desk and concierge to shuttle drivers were all incredibly helpful. We had a great meal at Napa Grill outdoors but had a horrible experience at Monte Cristo for dinner. I recommend going to Napa Grill for dinner as the service and food was much better.

Overall, a nice relaxing environment very close to the city, and a welcoming, helpful staff to ensure you have a wonderful stay
