Reviewed 19 November 2012

This hotel was a real disappointment in terms of its approach to dealing with complaints. Arrived on Friday 17th November with our 2 young children to find a number of rowdy Christmas parties in full swing. The Disco was ongoing until 12 but were told it would be ok because the doors would close and we wouldn't hear anything, this was not the case. Do to the location of the room with a balcony view unto the atrium the noise was loud all through the night. We phoned the reception and noted a complaint against the noise.
The rooms are small for 4 people and the bathroom was tiny. The pool was very cold and my 4 year old really struggled with it. The games room needs an upgrade and the chairs in the tv room were grubby.
We had booked bed and breakfast but hadn't realised the $10 voucher would not cover the buffet so we were charged extra. This wouldn't have been so bad if the food had been hot, very disappointing.
On complaining my husband was asked would he be returning to quebec city to which he replied the city was great but not the hotel. He was offered vouchers for the hotel as an apology which he refused and asked for the manager to call him, she has just left a message offering more vouchers. This is poor service and I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Do not choose a balcony room if you are a light sleeper

It was not our first time staying at this hotel. Beautiful room, clean, great beds too. Our sports team was there for a group booking and as usual there were no blips in our reservation. Just don't arrive before 4pm - rooms aren't available till then.
My 14 year old purchased a muffin at the coffee shop and was shortchanged. Hey, I didn't know that a muffin should cost almost $10.00!!! I returned to the coffee shop immediately- I even called her after she totalled her cash at the end of the day and received a very odd response. I guess it's embarrassing getting caught! I even called the hotel manager and never received a return call. I suppose this is the alternative, let everyone know to be careful and best pass up their little coffee shop and go elsewhere. There are lots of choice alternatives on Laurier- you might try Chez Victor for huge gourmet burgers- the fries are amazing too!!!!

We stayed here one night as part of a (Taipan) tour package. Hotel Plaza Quebec was an excellent choice (over Delta), the best hotel we've stayed at so far. Newly renovated, very modern rooms with many special touches, incl a fantastic looking bathroom. The courtyard pool area is just sensational, the rooms with balconies circling it looks so lovely. It's not at all the usual heavily fluorescent lit pool set up with screaming kids. Remember to bring a swim suit, you're bound to be happy you did as it's open late. I wish I knew this.+ there were only adults in it, so it looked very relaxing.

Very good quality hotel in a commercial neighbourhood of Quebec city, close to the main highways, the aquarium, many shopping centers, bars and restaurants. Staff was very friendly. Standard rooms were perfectly clean, with a modern design and very comfortable beds, including the one that you pull down from the wall (it'a a real, high quality mattress, not like the ones you get in convertible sofas). The pool was pleasant although a little cool, but the surrounding is very open and you can always warm yourself up in the spa. I will definitely visit this hotel again. We did not get a chance to try the restaurant.

I've stayed at this hotel once a year for the past 15 years. This last trip in July however revealed that room thermostats can't be set for less than 69 degrees. I'm used to air conditioning and had a poor night's sleep in a room that felt like the upper 70's.
I've written two comments to management about my displeasure over the policy that limits how cool a room can be, but nobody from the hotel has even acknowledged my comment. For a long time and loyal visitor like myself, it's a pretty poor display of indifference.

The rooms updated decor makes this hotel a very attractive and comfortable place to stay when in Québec city. Although a little far from Old Québec it is easy to get there by bus or taxi. The shopping centers are only a short walk away and there is some good restaurants near by. On the negative side the bathroom is on the small side and the rooms could be more sound proof, we could hear clearly what was going on in the corridors. But overall a nice place to stay, I would go back!

Second time at the hotel to spend 2 nights, really nice place with beautiful rooms and greatly located.

I had only one problem for the access to spa with my little girl where the rules are respected based on the lifeguard?!? Some nights no problem, on the other not possible... Annoying issue which needed to be discussed at the reception in order to finally relax, thanks for the comprehension and assistance.
