“Quiet, comfortable rooms with awesome Air Conditioning!”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

I ended up at the Best Western after the B&B I booked turned out not to have air conditioning. With the temperature being over 30 degrees Celsius, AC is a must for me in this weather.

I came to Best Western as I met with a nice couple earlier who suggested I contact them for my stay. I stayed from July 14 to July 16 and the rooms were very comfortable, clean and have an awesome shower. The attractive staff was very accommodating in getting me a room with a nice firmer mattress as I prefer that over the comfortable albeit softer plush ones they have in most rooms.

The rooms have very good Air Conditioning and when the outside temperature was 35 degrees, the room can stay very cool at 19 degrees or warmer if set accordingly.

The hotel is very nicely located next to shopping malls, highways, and other destinations. The rooms are VERY quiet and good size.

I will add this as my go to hotel whenever I am visiting Quebec.

This Best Western Hotel is rated by the chain as "Premier" but overall I was a bit disappointed. The decor is lovely - unique. The rooms are large with modern art. I had what looked like a crossing guard beside my bed which gave me a bit of a start in the middle of the night.

The bathroom was small and, although the fixtures were very modern and new, there was little room for personal items. Our room only had a shower - no bathtub.

Even though the hotel offered a 15% discount on meals at the adjacent restaurant, they were very expensive so we ate out or bought our meals at a Metro nearby.

The shuttle bus to Old Quebec City was not available until after we left but the city bus was quite convenient.

The Internet service was very good.

Bonjour Sandra G,

Thank you for reviewing our hotel following your recent stay.

I am sorry that we have not been able to fulfill all your expectations; however, I am glad that you have appreciated our new décor. For your information, even though the majority of our rooms have glass shower with rain showerhead with still have rooms with bathtub. I would suggest that next time you are visiting our hotel, call us directly in order to give us your preference for a bathtub hence we will more than pleased to accommodate your preference.

Best regards from Quebec city,

Carole

I booked this hotel based on other reviews. When we first pulled up, I wasn't sure what to expect because it is at the heart of a busy intersection and near highways. We were pleasantly surprised by the entire hotel. The staff was friendly and responsive to all of our needs and questions. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Room Tip: We had room 251 which was on the back side of the hotel. It was very quiet.

We enjoyed our 2-night stay there last month. Rooms were very nice and staff helpful. Location is a bit off if you are interested in dining out nearby, though. Bus connection to the old city is convenient but driving is the way to go if you can. We thought the hotel was excellent, clean as a whistle, and reasonalby priced. Would definately recommend to anyone.

Best best western we stayed with on our travel from North Bay,Ottawa, Montreal. Great location, rooms and pool. Located perfectly for short trips to aquarium and old city. We only stayed 2 nights but with 2 rooms one single king size bed,and another with 2 doubles. Both rooms had lots of space and very modern. Staff very friendly. Had a minor power outage on this side of town but staff were quick to light hallway and reassure guests. Will stay again next time

We arrived on June 26, 2013 and stayed for one night. We were just passing through Quebec City and were looking for clean, conveniently located, reasonably priced accommodation, with a comfortable bed and free parking. We found all of this and more at the Best Western Premier Hotel l'Aristocrate. We would certainly recommend a stay here.

Check-in was quick. Front desk staff were very pleasant and fluently bilingual (French-English).

The building looked to be recently constructed - everything had a brand new feel. Our ground floor room was very clean, modern and attractively decorated. The bathroom was small but adequate, very clean and contemporary with high end toiletries - it had a large shower, no bathtub, which was fine for us. We liked the clean look of the hardwood floor (or it may have been high quality laminate - we didn't examine it very closely). The drawback to this type of flooring is that the lack of carpet allowed us to hear every footstep of the occupant of the room above us when that person chose to walk around the room in high heels at 6:30 in the morning. Maybe best to choose a second floor room if you're not planning to wake up early (and best to choose a ground floor room if you're planning to walk around in heels at hours when others may be sleeping). There is carpeting in the hallways. Apart from the early morning tap dance, the hotel was quiet and we slept like babies in the very comfortable bed.

The hotel has a restaurant (La Fenouilliere) which appears to be quite elegant, but we didn't try it. The restaurant kitchen is located across the hall from the dining room - this same hallway that restaurant staff must cross is also used by some hotel guests. If you are staying on the ground floor in the east wing of the hotel (as we were), this means that when you are walking from the lobby to your room you may risk a collision with a waiter who is leaving the kitchen with a tray of hot food and crossing the hallway to enter the restaurant dining room. Seems like an accident waiting to happen, but we assumed that the waiters are aware of this hazard and look both ways before crossing - if you are going to your room from the parking lot, there are entrances to that wing of the hotel directly from the outside that allow you to get to your room without having to use this part of the hallway.

There are at least three restaurants within a very short walking distance of the hotel. We ate at Le Manoir across the street - it was nice and reasonably priced.

Very small rooms and bathrooms for four people and expensive. No shelfs in bathroom,no place to put your bags. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpfull. The location is not to far from old Quebec, it is a nice drive.

Bonjour Belgium65,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments following your stay at our hotel.

I am glad that you have appreciated the quality of service from our team members as well as our housekeeping team.

As far as the size of the room, I assume that you had a comfort room which is actually less spacious than our Signature rooms. I invite you to contact us directly during your next visit so we can ensure we offer you a room that suits your needs.

Best regards from Quebec,
