“First time to this hotel”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We decided to have a weekend get away to Quebec City (more particularly Old Quebec) and where we are frequent Best Western customers we picked this one as we read it has been recently remodeled.

Check in was a breeze and both young ladies working at front desk were very friendly and spoke english very well.

Location--We came from New Brunswick, so though the location is not right in Old Quebec, it was easily accessible as soon as you cross the bridge (which was more important to us).
We took a cab the first day to Old Quebec, which cost $33 per way however the nice young lady working at reception mentioned to us about the City Transit that picks up you up right outside the hotel and drops you off at the bottom of Old Quebec, only $3/per person each way.. We were busing it to and from hotel to Old Quebec as well as other customers at hotel. Bus is a great mode of transportation (very clean)

Room--Bed and pillows are soo comfy. Stand up shower (no bath --would have been nice since we are staying three nights and after walking all day in Old Quebec, but oh well, that shower made up for everything)... had an amazing shower head that I am going to go out and buy for our showers at home. The room was a little small, which we were surprised based on other Best Western we stayed at. However we know this hotel was remodeled so there is only so much a contractor can do. We were a little suprised that there was no microwave in the room. This would have been nice as one night we ate pizza and brought left over back but had no microwave to reheat. We had a balcony on the second floor... definitely worth it. on our last day and night, we just sat outside and enjoyed an adult beverage and watched the traffic go by. FYI... though this hotel is located right beside the highway, our rom was facing it, and I had no trouble sleeping (and trust me I am a light sleeper)

Coffee-Tea---Every Best Western we checked in always had a complimentary coffee-tea self serve bar in the lobby. Yes there is free coffee and tea in your room, but I dont know about the rest of you tea drinkers but I need milk with my tea... not coffee whitner. I went downstairs and spoke with a man at front desk, he suggested I check with restaurant. My husband and I went to the restaurant which was now closed :( We ran into the man from the front desk in the hall way and he appeared to be on his way home, though he did ask how we made out with restaurant, we told him we can hear people inside (must be cleaning restaurant) but we were out of luck. Anyway next day we walked across to service station and got a small container of milk for our fridge in the room. I understand where there is a restaurant at this location, they want customers to frequent it... but just a friendly suggestion LéAristocrate, it is nice to have a complimentary coffee-tea self serve bar with (real) milk and creamers .... not coffee whitners from room(yuck)

Hallway-very narrow, but the same goes for the reception, we just looked at this as an old hotel that go remodeled.

Would we return--Absolutely.. We are Loyal Best Western Customers

Room Tip: From what I saw... all rooms look the same inside, with the exception of the second floor balcony (w...

I checked various hotels in the area, then booked Best Western. We were a family of four and were given an upgraded room with two Queen sized beds.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, as were housekeeping..giving me endless refills of coffee and creamer.
The beds were very very comfortable, perfect pillows with real down duvets.
The bathroom was very nice with a rain shower.
My son loved swimming in the pool
And we shopped at the Metro next door for food as we didn't take the breakfast deal, and the hotel kitchen staff were very sweet about heating our store bought croissants.
All in all, i would go back for a longer stay just for the comfort.
It was also very east access to Old Quebec city.

We stayed here for the first night of our 7 day journey. It was the nicest hotel of our entire journey. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very modern. The hotel was very clean. We would definitely stay there again. Overall they delivered on all the promises they had on their description, plus added a few extra things.

We stayed here for 2 nights recently when visiting Quebec City, it is a lovely hotel. It has been recently updated and the decor is very nice. The room has a lovely glass enclosed shower, a comfortable bed, modern decor, is roomy and has a small fridge. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you to the centre of Old Quebec, it leaves at 830 or 945 and if you wish to take it back there are 2 return times in the early evening. We took the shuttle into town, but took the city transit bus back in the evening, which stops right outside the hotel, very convenient and only costs $3.00. The staff at the front desk will provide you with a copy of the transit bus schedule. Breakfast is not included but there is a lovely restaurant on site or hop on the bus and dine down in the city centre, where there are an abundance of places to choose from. The hotel is easy to get to from the main highway. A lovely property and would recommend it to others!

The hotel is great, with very nice and spacious rooms. We stayed on the 2nd floor facing the back - a residential street.

The shuttle service advertised on their webpage ("Complimentary shuttle to Old Quebec - summertime") is very limited. I do not remember the exact times but it has 2 departures early in the morning (8:30 and 9:45 or something like that) and one return in the evening around 6:30. So if you want to have dinner in the Old City or come back to drop your shopping at the hotel the service is not usable. Maybe it's me but whenever I have used hotel shuttles before they have been running all day/on request -airport/station connections, shopping mall connections- and in many cases the distance was the same as in this case (10 to 15 min drive).

The hotel is located away from the city centre but right next to the highway that takes you there so a very short drive. The main shopping mall in Quebec City -Laurier- is very close to the hotel about 7 minutes by car. There is a Metro supermarket with a nice bakery inside just behind the hotel -convenient for breakfast- and a couple of nice restaurants just across the street.

Room Tip: Check times of the shuttle to Old Quebec with reception as it does not run all day

Bonjour Arz,

Thank you for reviewing our hotel following your recent stay at our hotel.

I am glad that you appreciated our location as well as the various services our attractions close to the Aristocrate.

There is indeed two departures from the hotel in the morning for our complimentary shuttle and one return at 18:00. However, clients who want to spend more time in Old Quebec, can also use the shuttle from the city to return to the hotel. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 17:00 to midnight and the cost is $ 3 per person.

We stayed 3 nights at this Best Western which is conveniently located near Quebec City. The hotel was fabulous. The front staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was very tastefully decorated and had hardwood floors which we loved. The room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was very nice, plenty of towels and really awesome shower. The restaurant was pricey but the food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. We would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone.

This hotel is easily reached by main highways outside Quebec City, has a handy shuttle, free parking and an easy route to the Old City. When you walk in to register, the desk sparkles with cleanliness right down to the shiny candy wrappers under the light. Loved our room, the shower, the wifi which was quick, the comfortable bed. Loved the hardwood floors, everything was so clean. Classy decor. Staff was helpful. The restaurant was expensive so use it only if you are up for a splurge. The service was attentive, the food served with style and very good. Presentation, presentation. I selected this hotel for our small group and was really happy with the choice.
