We stayed three nights at the Hotel Manoir Victoria during our trip through Ontario and Quebec. The hotel was currently under renovations, but you would have never known. We never heard any noice or saw any workers ... just a sign at the elevators thanking us for our patience during the reno's. The hotel was very clean and the front staff very pleasant. They were always quick to bring our car around from the valet and always offered to help with our bags.
The only negatives (small ones) that I would have to say about this hotel is the large staircase to climb up to get to the lobby. If you are disabled or handicapped, this would be a huge challenge. My husband had to help a woman with a cane to the top of the steps at one point. Also ... There is no hot tub. They have a very nice pool and sauna, but no hot tub. After a long day of walking outside in the cool February air, a hot tub soak would have been really nice! And lastly .. this seems like an odd complaint, but I have to mention it .. their bed frames are deadly!! On numberous occassions my husband and I both ran into the bottom bed post and were left with bruises all up and down our legs and ankles. We are two able bodied 29 year olds ... and we were constantly running into these darn bed posts!!
Other than that a great stay. Awesome location, tons of shops and restaurans all around. I would highly recommend staying at the Manoir Victoria.

The Hotel Manoir Victoria is nice, and in the perfect location, but was overpriced. Admittedly we were there during the music festival in July, so prices were jacked all over Quebec, but the room was not quite what I'm used to getting for almost $250 a night. Just outdated, not in a classic sense, but like it was last updated in 1985. The breakfast was better than most, and again the location was outstanding, it was just what you got for the money was not that great.

This is a wonderful little hotel. We were surprised to find that we had to go up quite a few stairs to get to the registration desk... However, the staff was very helpful and the location, in the middle of old Quebec, was just perfect.

We stayed at the Manoir Victoria for 3 nights in October 2011 as part of our 3 week holiday in Eastern Canada and it was the highlight of our holiday. We arrived at the hotel at 06.15am off the train from Halifax but this was no problem, the gentleman on reception was very welcoming and said they had been waiting for us, our check-in was quick and easy and a porter appeared straight away to assist my Husband to carry the luggage up the rather large flight of stairs into a very spacious & comfortable reception area, it was then put on a trolley and taken straight to our room. We had booked a delux room and we were not disappointed, it was very spacious with 2 large beds and arm chairs and a large flat screen TV and lovely bathroom amenities The breakfast was very good with a choice of a hot buffet or cold continental at a very reasonable price. We had our main meals in the Pub St James which is part of the hotel and the food was excellent. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, we booked at boat trip through hotel receiption and we were picked up right outside the hotel by bus then taken back after. The hotel is very central for shopping and site seeing, the Chateau Frontenac being just a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is situated on quite a steep hill hence the flight of stairs up to reception, but during opening times you can access the hotel through the Pub St James round the corner which is flat. I would definitely recommend this hotel. and would definitely stay there again if we were lucky enough to ever visit Quebec City again.

This was a really pretty and clean hotel in the heart of Old Quebec. The linens and room appointments seemed fairly new and upscale. The room was a little small but large enough for the 2 of us. It was a narrow rectangle shape so the tv was quite a distance from the bed. Bathroom amenities were very nice.
It was in a great location within walking distance to anything in the old city.
The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating and spoke excellent English and had no problem with the fact that we didn't speak French.
My only complaint would be that it was a little pricey for the size of the room.

My family of 4 stayed at Manoir Victoria for 8 nights during the Winter Carnival. We got a great deal on Splendia. Our room was very spacious and was within walking distance of everything! Two drawbacks: The first is that if you can't walk up/down stairs, you are out of luck. There are at least 20 stairs from the front door to the lobby level and they aren't allowed to install an elevator because of they are an historic building. The second is their restaurant only has about 10 items on the dinner menu and they only offer spaghetti for children. Every room has a mini bar with space in the fridge for personal items. The best part is the LOCATION. We did not have a car and walked everywhere. There are TONS of great restaurants all around and directly on either side of the hotel are a pharmacy and a grocery store. McDonald's is right on the corner for the times when our kids were tired of fine dining. Ice skating is only a couple of blocks away and the carnival is only a 15-20 minute walk. They were renovating the lobby while we were there so it should be finished by now. They arrange bus transportation & tickets to the ice hotel, skiing, etc. The bus to ski is $30 pp. If you have more than 2 people, you may want to rent a car for the day from Hertz (2 doors down). They also sell the carnival effigies. They have a nice indoor pool and spa as well. We would definitely stay there again.

This was a gem in the old city. I booked it online via bookings.com and got a great price. The best part of our trip was Bernard. He was the most kind, helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable person I've ever met at any hotel. I just loved talking to him and asking questions and practicing my rusty French. Take the recommendations for restaurants. They were exactly what we wanted - though prices were painful; so be prepared to drop a few bucks on dinners.
