“Superb Freshly Renovated Room and Hotel; Central Location in Old Quebec”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Stayed 3 days and enjoyed immensely. Bellboy assisted with luggage and with car valet. Room was freshly updated (some fresh paint odours). Large kingsized bed on 5th floor. Quiet room. Well appointed with a warm feeling from colours, textures, bright, fresh bathrooms. Wifi was quick. Minibar fridge and snacks. Large closets and dresser drawers. Would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

This was our first trip to Quebec, and the Hotel Manoir Victoria was an ideal choice for our family (husband, wife, daughter). The room was spacious and comfortable, with a clean bathroom and excellent WiFi. The staff was polite and friendly, and fluent in English (as well as patient with our fumbling attempts at French).

The biggest drawbacks are:
1. The only way to enter is up a steep staircase. If you're lugging several bags, it's a bit of a chore
2. The exercise room is small and not well equipped.
3. During checkout, a charge appeared on our bill for an in-room movie, which we had not watched. It took several minutes of discussion before the staff was willing to remove it from the bill.

The excellent location (next to a Tim Hortons location, which was a bonus), the charm and comfort, and the price (especially compared to the lovely but pricey Chateau Frontenac) make it an excellent destination. We walked all around the city, but when we needed the car, the valet brought it out front rapidly, even when the front desk was busy.

Quebec was lovely, and when we return, we would definitely stay again at the Hotel Manoir Victoria.

We stayed at the Manoir VIctoria for the 3rd time, only for 1 night this time. Great location near Old Quebec city, near the St-Jean street and walking distance from all major Old Quebec city attraction (Plaine d'abraham, Chateau Frontenac, Citadelle...)

We had room 410, the room is clean and functionnal, an update could be welcome. But like I said really clean and functionnal.

Checking in was easy. The valet parking guys are really nice, friendly and helpful if you need directions. Our room was not ready but we asked is something ready was available and we got a new room.

The hotel restaurant, "Chez Boulay" is still amazing, very good service and amazing food.

Great value, would recommend

Two night stay at the Hotel Manoir Victoria on tour of Canada. A beautiful hotel recently renovated from which you can walk all the main Quebec attractions with many restaurants and bars closeby. Friendly helpful staff and good food.

The hotel is very nice and have great people running the front office and wonderful folks helping you with your car and bags. The breakfast restaurant was pleasant and the food was good.
The big surprised came upon entering the room. It goes from 4 stars hotel down to 1. It looks just plain. Well, that is OK as long as the place is clean. Did I say clean? The coffee brewer had not been cleaned, it still had the used coffee bag from the last person who used. The sheets being used for the bed were the wrong size. The one used to cover the mattress was so small that it could not be fitted under the mattress. At the foot section, the entire section of the mattress was exposed. I did show the problem to the bellman when he came to pick our bags. Furthermore, after we took a shower, the shower curtain became very smelly.

On our second day we went out in the morning and came back for a nap at 2:30 pm. The room had not been made (4 stars hotel?). We asked the lady to do the room. A few minutes latter she finished without vacuuming the room. The smelly shower curtain had not been replaced and since we did not asked for the sheets to be replaced, we had to spend another night sleeping on a portion of the exposed mattress. We asked the front office to replace the curtain.

I was in Quebec City for a conference with some vacation days taken as well. I stayed at the Hotel Manoir Victoria for seven nights. The location was perfect. Easy walking distance to all the major sites, and every place you need (restaurants, bars, coffee, bakery, pharmacy, convenience store) is within a few short blocks. My room was in the old part of the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. There was an issue with the window not closing properly. When I notified reception about it, they promptly sent someone up. They were apologetic and ended up moving to a different room. All the staff that I interacted with were great. I will definitely come back to this hotel during future visits to this beautiful city.

I decided to book this hotel sometime in advance. We required two separate beds and there aren't a lot of choices in Quebec city offering this in the 4* category. Having being newly renovated this hotel was my choice. We arrived by car and the valet service was accommodating offering to help us with our luggage. As mentioned there are stairs to climb but unless your quite old they are not difficult as they are wide and not steep at all.

Checked in quickly, we went up to our room to drop off bags, etc. It was clean, modern and had most amenities such as flat screen tv, iron, etc. The mini bar is a nice touch for emergencies and can be used to store some of your own food. One thing we did not like about the room is the poor lighting at times, it seems like hotels nowadays are all about lamps and less about ceiling lights. The room itself was very spacious, the bathroom was large, modern, and had a large walk in shower. The worst part of the bathroom is the hairdryer, its probably the weakest hairdryer i've ever used in my life. It simply sucked.

Throughout our stay the staff were amazing, truly they love what they do and love to help out. Valet service was always awesome as well. I'd definitely stay here again. The location is so good compared to most other hotels which are located closer to the port, but further from shops and the busy part of "old quebec".
