“In the middle of Old Town Quebec”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

The hotel was very nice and grand once you walked in. It is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The staff were very nice when you caught up to them. The food was ok nothing to write home about but the best part was that it was right in the middle of the hang out spots and at night t wasn't loud. Great place to relax the spa was awesome and the pool is smaller than the pictures but very nice. Overall a great place to stay if you like the old to meet the new. Oh! The room was a decent size too!

great location, delightful little hotel, fabulous restaurant! We just returned from a 'mini-
vacation' in Quebec City. We arrived just in time to book a spot at BOULAY to enjoy our
dinner. Just perfect!

Room Tip: We had a comfortable room on the 5th floor with a view of the river...and some charming rooftops! D...

We stayed here as a family of two adults and two children. We chose this hotel because my kids like to swim and I didn't find a lot of hotels with pools in a great location such as this. We arrived mid-morning and knew we could not check-in til 4, but the wonderful young man at the front desk said he would do his best to have our room ready early for us by making it a priority for the cleaning staff. (And it was ready early!) Also, we had booked a "superior" room but we received a complimentary upgrade to a "Grande" room. The room had lots of space for our suitcases and two Queen beds and was very obviously new! The furnishing were all new as well as the paint and carpet so no complaints there. The bellman who brought our luggage to us from storage was so kind and helpful. The pool was satisfactory, and nice to see a lifeguard on duty as many hotel pools no longer have lifeguards. The location is great as it's in the heart of Upper Town within the walls of Quebec City. We did not eat any meals here so can't comment on that. The price was very good for the size of the room, although that was likely due to the complimentary upgrade in the room. The hotel seemed very busy (July 6 - 8), but the staff seemed able to handle it. Overall, it was a great stay.

Room Tip: Ask to be in the renovated section.

The hotel is located in the upper section of the old city, perfectly located for the visit. Our room with two double beds was very spacious with a huge window facing a pedestrian street. The hotel's restaurant, Chez Boulay, was amazing. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant were very attentive. Unfortunately, we had two issues. The first one is that we did not know that the access from the street to the lobby is by climbing a long flight of stairs. There is no elevator access causing a problem for guests with difficulties going up stairs. The other is that there is a pub very close to the hotel that had a very lively band playing until past midnight. If you are a light sleeper, you will have to stay up with the pub crowd 'cause sleeping is not really in the cards until they close for the night.

A bit pricey and long winding corridors (two separate buildings actually). But the rooms are big, nice layout, clean and big bathroom. Hotel located in the middle of everything. Bakery, cafés, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. Nice lobby but there are about 20 steps from front doors to registration. Parking via valet parking only.
Quiet inside facing rooms available and modern decor. Would definitely stay here again and worth the price compared to hotels outside the City.

Room Tip: Ask for the contemporary (renovated) room.

The first thing you notice is the warmth and professionalism of the staff. It gets better after that...
We had booked a suite and were awed by the decor, size and cleanliness. Our bed was extremely comfortable and cozy. We were lucky to have a balcony overlooking St Jean street. Even though that street boasts a lot of restaurants, stores, bars and terrasses and does get noisy at night, our room was perfectly soundproof and enabled us to sleep soundly. The rainshower in the bathroom was very appreciated as well as the complimentary Nespresso machine.
We had a memorable dinner at the hotel Restaurant Le Boulay. truly one of the best restaurants in Quebec City. The staff was very helpfull and knowlegeable as well as very friendly.
Truly a wonderful experience. We'll be back!

My husband enjoyed 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. When we arrived it was pouring rain. We were 3 hours early for check-in. The desk clerk took our information, stored our luggage and loaned us an umbrella so we could begin our tour of this beautiful city. Valet parking and daily breakfast was included in our room rate through AAA. The location could not have been better and the value was excellent for this expensive town. Our room was on the 6th floor. It was very clean, quiet and cool. We definately would stay at this hotel again.
